Abstract:

In this study, one of the major Georgian writers of the 19th century, Yakob Gogebaşvili, published in 1890, "What did it do?“What did Nini do? The original language of the name is Greek and the story translated into Turkish by different translators will be comparable to the study. The aim is to show how translators approach the same work and what kind of strategies to use the similarities and differences between source text and male translations in the context of equality. Examples of the reviewed male text were studied on the basis of Hayri Hayrioğlu (1980, Aksiseda Matbaası, Istanbul) and Gül Mükerrem Öztürk and Asmat Japaridze (2016, Culture Agency Publishing, Ankara) translations. The work will be studied within the framework of Gideon Toury’s man-oriented translation theory and from here we will be given a brief information about the source text author and his story, and the number of sections and the number of pages will be discussed. In the translation process section, the words selected from the source text were identified by comparing the translations in the translation to the target text. According to Gideon Toury’s theory, there were differences in both translation texts we discussed. The language equality between the source text and the male text, as well as the meaning equality, has been determined. The strategies that the translators in both male texts use during the translation period are identified using extract, localization, addition, interpretation, and individual translation strategies. Based on Gideon Toury theory, the acceptable translation of C1 is indicated as a sufficient translation of C2.
