Tanzimat döneminden itibaren romanlarda kendisine yer bulan tarih; 1990 sonrası Türk romanında sosyal ve siyasal alanlardaki değişimler ile dünya edebiyatındaki gelişmeler yazarların değişen algı dünyaları düzleminde edebiyatımızda kendisine yer bulmaya başladığında birtakım değişikliklere uğramıştır. Bu değişimlerin başında tarihin bir araç olarak kullanılarak oluşturulmak istenilen “milli kimlik” anlayışından vazgeçilmesi gelmektedir. Postmodern yazarlar, romanlarında bir arka fon olarak kullandıkları tarihi “milli” çizgiden uzaklaştırarak özellikle Yeni Tarihselci anlayışın da etkisiyle sıradan kurgusal kahramanlar vasıtasıyla resmi tarihin boşlukta bıraktıklarını düşündükleri sosyal ve kültürel hayatı ön plana çıkartarak tarihi yeniden yazma düşüncesini tatbik etmeye çalışmışlardır. Bunu yaparken de olayları “gerçek” yerine “gerçeklik” çerçevesinde ele alırlar. Gerçek olma vasfını yitiren “tarih”, romanda kurgulanan postmodern bir “oyun”un parçası haline dönüştürülerek okurun da romanın gerçeklik atmosferine bürünmeleri sağlanmaya çalışılır. Adalet Ağaoğlu da “Romantik/Bir Viyana Yazı”nda bireyin iç dünyasını “tarih” izleği etrafında sözü edilen postmodern bir edayla kurmuştur. Tarih öğretmeni Kâmil Kaya’nın dersleri bağlamında ele alınan tarih, Kâmil Kaya’nın özel hayatından hareket edilerek kurulan oyunun bir parçası haline getirilmiştir. Adalet Ağaoğlu, derslerini tarihe hayal unsurlarını katarak anlattığı için öğrencileri tarafından “hayalci hoca” olarak vasıflandırılan Kâmil Kaya’nın “barok” düşünce yapısının bir parçası olması dolayısıyla hayranı olduğu ve görmeyi çok istediği Viyana ile olan duygusal bağı üzerinden tarihe yönelmekte ve Osmanlı tarihinden de bu doğrultuda malzemeler bulma noktasında yararlanmaktadır.
The history of his place in the novels since the Tanzimat period; the changes in the social and political fields of the 1990s in the Turkish novel and the developments in the world literature have begun to find his place in our literature in the changing perception worlds of the writers. At the beginning of these changes comes the abandonment of the concept of "national identity" that is intended to be created using history as a tool. Postmodern writers, by removing the historical “national” line they use as a background in their novels, especially with the influence of the New Historical understanding, through ordinary fictional heroes, have tried to practice the idea of re-writing history by putting the social and cultural life they think they have left the official history in the empty. When doing this, they also deal with the events in the framework of "reality" instead of "reality". The "history" that loses the mind of being reality, is transformed into a part of a postmodern "game" set in the novel, and the novel is trying to make them immersed in the atmosphere of reality. Justice Brother also founded the individual’s inner world in “Romantic/A Vienna Writing” with a postmodern edition mentioned around the “history” view. History discussed in the context of the lessons of the historian teacher Kamil Kaya, has become part of the game established by moving from the private life of Kamil Kaya. Justice Agaoğlu is a part of the "barock" thinking structure of Kamil Kaya, which is qualified as "fantasy teacher" by his students because he tells his lessons by adding his fantasy elements to history and is a part of the "barock" thinking structure that is a fan and is very interested in seeing through the emotional bond with Vienna and is also taking advantage of the Ottoman history in the point of finding materials in this direction.
