Abstract:

While sociology is a branch of science that has almost completed its development abroad, newly recognized and studied in our country has begun. This situation in Turkey is the main language education, language and cultural relations, language and society relations, etc. He shows himself in many studies on the subject. With regard to the workplace and the subjects he has studied, it appears that sociology is a field with the potential to increase the effectiveness of the mother tongue education, especially by keeping light on the problems in the mother tongue education. Therefore, it is thought that this area that is less worked in our country, and that very few workers are aware of it, should be well known and more worked. This study is aimed at supporting the identification with concrete data to create a awareness of our lack in the subject of sociology; then to provide information about the methods, techniques of sociology, and in particular the workplace, and to provide recommendations for a better quality mother language education. To this objective, the visual model has been used in this study and graduate theses in the field of social sciences in Turkey since 1990 have been studied with content analysis technique. The study found that the majority of researchers in our country (% 86.2) did not know what they worked in this field because they did not associate these theses with sociolinguistics, and they also did not know what they worked in this field because they associated them with 15 different areas than sociolinguistics. The study also found that very few experimental studies have been conducted in this area. In light of the findings and the results achieved, some recommendations have been made.
