Abstract:

Since today’s accounting practices have passed through an intense technological period, accounting practitioners also need to adapt to this process. At this point, accounting courses as future accounting practitioners, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and the Professional Higher School students receive technology-backed accounting education is of importance. The aim of this study is to identify students’ perspectives on the use of technology in accounting courses. For this purpose, a survey was conducted to students in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of the University of Hitit and in the Professional High Schools to receive accounting courses. The study found a significant difference between the students’ departments, average and classrooms and the views on the use of technology in accounting courses. In addition, the study found that the students should describe the most accounting software as a separate course, that the courses in the accounting courses should be discussed in the class after the subject-related courses should also be shared on the internet, that the faculty members who give accounting courses should follow the new technologies related to education and that the use of technological products will be easier to follow the courses. Another outcome of the study was that students pointed out that more portable computers, projector and smart board should be used in the classes, and the same way from technological software, they pointed out that package accounting software, office applications and internet-based software should be used.
