Abstract:

This study aims to study the problem-solving skills of women footballers fighting in different leagues in terms of age, education status, the leagues played and sports years. Tools and Methods: This identifying research has agreed to participate in the research of 654 footballers struggling in teams and different categories in the Women's 1.lig, 2.lig and 3.lig. In the collection of the data of the study, the question form and the study were also used to identify the indicative characteristics of footballers; the problem-solving inventory (PCE), developed by Heppner and Petersen, adapted to Turkish by Shahin and Heppner (1993) was used. The percentage and frequency values were used in the analysis of the data, the One Way Anova, Man Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used in the comparison of the data, and the meaning was sought at p<0.05 levels. All analyses were done with SPSS v17.0 (SPSS Science, Chicago, IL, USA). Results: In comparison of the problem-solving skills of women footballers fighting in different leagues by age variable, the problem-solving perception of the 18-21-year-old group was high. Depending on the variable of the level of education and the variable of the sports year, the problem-solving skills do not differ significantly. At the level of the competed league, the footballers playing in the 1st league had higher problem-solving skills. The study aimed at determining the problem-solving skills of women footballers in different leagues and comparing some variables in terms of 42.4 per cent of participants in the age range of 22-25 years, 44 per cent high school graduates, 42.7 per cent playing in the first league and 28.9 per cent doing sports between 6-7 years. Women's footballers' problem-solving skills do not differ significantly depending on the level of training and the variation of the sports year, while they differ by age and the level of the league played.
