Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the levels of sabotage of judges who work in the wave surfing branch within the Federation of developing sports branches in Turkey. However, it was also studied whether the levels of self-sabotage of participants differed according to gender, education, monthly income and foreign language knowledge levels. The work was attended by all the judges (N=25) working in the Wave Surfing Branch. For the purpose of gathering data, the self-sabotage scale was developed by Jones and Rhodewalt and made by the Turkish adaptation Akın (2012). Due to the failure of data to meet the normal assumption (N<30), non-parametric tests were used for statistical analyses. The Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis H tests were used to analyze the data collected from the subjects and the meaning level was chosen as p<0,05. According to statistical analyses, there is no significant difference between the self-sabotage points (p>0,05) according to the categorical characteristics of the subjects, but the wave surf judges have self-sabotage points lower than the point indicated in literature (median=38)
