Abstract:

The Ottoman conquest of the Balkans. Thro the century, the Episcopal and surrounding Circles, despite the many living migrations, have settled in the different cities of the country and the city life has begun to continue. Radovich is one of these cities. The York Turks, who are gradually settled from Karaman to the Kocaali village located on the edges of the Blacgovica Mountains, linked to the Radovich Municipality of Eastern Macedonia, continue to maintain their culture, language, ancient traditions and lifestyle despite the 600 years of their interruption. One of the best examples of this is the traditional wedding dress that the bride wearing at the wedding ceremony. The wedding ceremony of those who will try to wear the most beautiful and spectacular clothes, has been seen in every period. These special clothes have also gained different characteristics according to their cultures. According to cultures used in clothing, colors, symbols, accessories contained different meanings. The color and shape of the wedding, seen in different forms in ancient times, has varied according to the culture, religion and traditions of the bride. The used accessories, symbolic meanings, status indicator, were used as complementary elements to the wedding. Today, the developments in the wedding industry continue rapidly, and the processes are changing due to the evolution of technology, the changes in customer demands and the influence of different design concepts. In ancient Turkish traditions, the wedding dress is preferred in red, but today the white wedding dress is preferred. But in the village of Kocaali Yörük, the community has managed to preserve many of its traditional traditions until today; it has managed to move the use of traditional wedding clothes that represent the local culture to the present day. In the research, a set of clothes obtained from traditional wedding clothes in the village of Kocaali, the Turkish Yörük village in Radovish area, was designed to be studied in terms of material, color, decoration technique and to ensure that it is transferred to the next generations.
