Günümüzde, lojistik faaliyetlerin etkin hale getirilmesi ve bu faaliyetlerle ilgili uzun vadeli, alternatifli planların hazırlanması, ülkelerin rekabet gücünün sürdürülebilirliği adına mutlaka gerçekleştirilmesi gereken işlemler haline gelmiştir. Bu işlemlerin en önemlisi, ülkenin stratejik noktalarında lojistik üslerin kurulumu ve bu üslerin verimli biçimde işletilebilmesidir. Avrupa ve Asya kıtalarını birbirine bağlayan Türkiye; sahip olduğu dış ticaret hacmi ile birlikte, coğrafi ve kültürel açıdan da lojistik üs vasfını kazanma adına gereken potansiyele sahiptir. Tüm Dünya ülkelerinde olduğu gibi, ülkemizde de lojistik faaliyetler açısından gelişmeler kaydedilmiş olmasına rağmen, bu gelişmeler ülke potansiyelinin gerisinde kalmış ve Lojistik Performans Endeksi sıralamasında 2007 yılında Türkiye 30. sırada iken; 2018'de 47. sırada yer almıştır. Bu durum, her geçen yıl daha çok önem kazanan ve diğer ülkelerle Türkiye'nin arasının açılmasına sebep olan lojistik üslerin önemini ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Dolayısıyla, lojistik üs olma yolunda stratejik planların derhal uygulamaya geçirilerek mevzuatın efektif hale getirilmesi ve altyapının geliştirilmesi gerekmektedir. Ülke performansının artırılması adına, kombine taşımacılığı nitelik ve nicelik olarak artırmak da, atılması gereken adımlardan biridir. Bu çalışmada, ülkemizin lojistik performansı değerlendirilmiş ve lojistik üslerin önemi üzerinde durulmuştur.
Today, the efficiency of logistics activities and the preparation of long-term, alternative plans for these activities have become the processes that must be carried out for the sustainability of the competitiveness of the countries. The most important of these transactions is the establishment of logistics bases in the strategic points of the country and the efficient operation of these bases. Turkey, which connects the continents of Europe and Asia, along with its volume of foreign trade, has the potential to gain the logistics base in its geographical and cultural terms. As in all countries in the world, even in our country there have been developments in terms of logistics activities, these developments have remained behind the country’s potential and in the logistics performance index ranking in 2007 Turkey ranked 30th; in 2018 ranked 47th. This situation reveals the importance of the logistics bases that have gained more importance each year and have caused the opening of the connection between Turkey and other countries. Therefore, in order to become a logistics base, strategic plans must be implemented immediately, making the legislation effective and improving the infrastructure. In order to improve the performance of the country, increasing the quality and quantity of combined transportation is also one of the steps to be taken. In this study, the logistics performance of our country has been evaluated and focused on the importance of the logistics bases.
Today, activation of logistic activities and preparation of long-term, alternative plans for these activities has become the processes that must be performed on behalf of the sustainability of the competitiveness of countries. The most important of these operations is the establishment of logistic bases in the strategic points of the country and the efficient operation of these bases. Turkey, linking the European and Asian continents and with its foreign trade volume, has the potential to gain the logistical quality in geographical and cultural terms. As with all countries of the world, although the country has recorded improvements in terms of logistics activities, these developments have remained below the country's potential and Turkey, in the ranking of Logistics Performance Index in 2007 was ranked 30th, however it was ranked 47th in 2018. This situation reveals the importance of logistics bases which become more and more important each year and which cause the opening between Turkey and other countries. Therefore, the strategic plans on becoming a logistics base the legislation should be activated by implementing immediately and the infrastructure should be improved. To increase the performance of the country, increasing the quality and quantity of combined transport is just one of the steps. In this study, the logistic performance of our country was evaluated and the importance of logistics bases was emphasized.
