İş sağlığı ve güvenliği kavramının ülkemizde gelişmesi ile tüm çalışma alanlarında önleme ve iyileştirme çalışmaları uygulanmaya başlanmıştır. Çalışma hayatında insana gelebilecek zararların önlenmesi veya mümkünse ortadan kaldırılması iş sağlığı ve güvenliğinin temel hedefini oluşturmaktadır. Laboratuvar ortamı çalışanlar için psikolojik/bedensel olarak zorlayıcı faktörler barındırmakla birlikte, tehlikeler ile iç içe olan bir çalışma alanıdır. Laboratuvar çerçevesinde karşılaşılabilecek riskler biyolojik, kimyasal, fiziksel, ergonomik risk etmenleri olarak 4 gruba ayrılabilir. Bu risk grupları çalışanlar için çok fazla yaralanma ihtimali içermektedir. Sağlık hizmetleri alanındaki eğitim laboratuvarlarında iş sağlığı ve güvenliği uygulamalarının önemi anlaşılarak önerilere uyumun bu istenmeyen durumlara karşı mücadele de etkin yollardan biri olduğu gözlenmiştir. Tıbbi Mikrobiyoloji Eğitim Laboratuvarı gibi özellikle sağlık alanında hizmet veren ve orta riskli olarak kabul edilen kurum veya kuruluşlardaki gerçek risklerin etkin olarak belirlenebilmesi amacıyla bu merkezlerde yapılan iş sağlığı ve güvenliği alanındaki daha ileri araştırmalara ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu makalede, İstanbul Aydın Üniversitesi Tıbbi Mikrobiyoloji Eğitim Laboratuvarında yapılan risk analizi ve değerlendirme çalışması hakkında bilgiler verilmiştir.
With the development of the concept of health and safety at work in our country, prevention and improvement work in all areas of work has begun to be implemented. The prevention or elimination of harm to the person in the work life is the main objective of health and safety at work. The laboratory environment is an area of work that is interconnected with dangers, although it contains psychological/physically compulsory factors for employees. The risks in the laboratory framework can be divided into 4 groups, such as biological, chemical, physical, and ergonomic risks. These risk groups include a lot of injuries for employees. Understanding the importance of occupational health and safety practices in educational laboratories in the field of health services, conformity to the recommendations has been observed as one of the effective ways to combat these unwanted situations. Further research in the field of health and safety of work in these centers is needed in order to effectively determine the real risks in institutions or organizations which serve in the health sector and are considered to be medium-risk, such as the Medical Microbiology Training Laboratory. This article provides information about the risk analysis and evaluation work done at the Medical Microbiology Education Laboratory of Istanbul Aydın University.
Prevention and improvement works have started in parallel with the development of occupational health and safety concept in our country. The main objective of occupational health and safety is to prevent or eliminate possible damages to people in working life. While the laboratory environment contains psychological / physically challenging factors for the employees, it is a working area that is intertwined with the hazards. The risks that may be encountered in the laboratory can be divided into 4 groups as biological, chemical, physical and ergonomic risk factors. These risk groups have a high probability of injury for employees. The importance of occupational health and safety practices in education helth laboratories has been observed that compliance with recommendations is one of the effective ways of combating these unwanted situations. Further researches in the field of occupational health and safety are needed in order to effectively identify the real risks in the institutions or organizations that provide services in the health field such as Medical Microbiology Training Laboratory. In this article, information about risk analysis and evaluation study performed in Istanbul Aydın University Medical Microbiology Education Laboratory is given.
