Geçmiş, günümüz ve gelecek arasındaki bağlantıyı kuran kültürel miras değerleri birçok risk unsuruna maruz kalarak yok olma tehlikesi altındadır. Erozyon, deprem, sel gibi doğa kaynaklı riskler; iskân ve bayındırlık gelişmeleri, yönetimsel sorunlar ve benzeri insan kaynaklı riskler kültürel miraslarının özgünlüğünü ve sürdürülebilir olarak korunmasını tehdit etmektedir. Bu risklerle karşı karşıya kalan değerlerin korunması, yaşatılması ve geleceğe aktarılması büyük önem arz etmektedir. Yerel kimliğini koruyan, kültürel miras değerlerine sahip Niğde ilinde bulunan kale ve çevresi yerel halkın kolektif belleğinde önemli bir yer tutmaktadır. Çalışmada, Niğde kentsel arkeolojik sit alanı içerisinde yer alan Niğde Kalesi ve çevresindeki tarihi yerleşim dokusunun maruz kaldığı insan kaynaklı riskler üzerine incelemeler yapılarak, koruma-kullanım dengesinin sağlanması için öneriler sunulmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında, literatür incelemesi ve Koruma Amaçlı İmar Planı’ndan elden edilen veriler doğrultusunda kültürel mirasların maruz kaldığı insan kaynaklı riskler haritalar üzerinde belirtilmiştir. Çalışma alanında tespit edilen insan kaynaklı risklerin, kültürel miras değerlerini tehdit ettiği ve bu durumun bölgenin korunmasını olumsuz etkilediği vurgulanmıştır.
The cultural heritage values that link between the past, the present and the future are at risk of disappearance by exposure to many risk elements. Natural risks such as erosion, earthquakes, flooding; developments in disruption, management problems and similar human risks threaten the originality and sustainable preservation of cultural heritage. The preservation, preservation and transfer of the values faced with these risks to the future is of great importance. The castle and its surroundings, located in the province of Niğde with cultural heritage values that preserve its local identity, holds an important place in the collective memory of the local people. In the study, research on the human-source risks exposed to the historic settlement tissue within the Niğde city archaeological site in Niğde and its surrounding area, proposals are made to ensure the balance of protection and use. In the framework of the study, according to the data obtained from the literary review and the Plan for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, human-based risks exposed to have been indicated on maps. Human-related risks identified in the field of work underlined that they threaten cultural heritage values and that this situation has a negative impact on the protection of the region.

Preserving the values that face these risks, keeping them alive and transferring them to the future is of great importance. The castle and its surroundings in the Niğde province, which maintains its local identity and which have cultural heritage values, occupy an important place in the collective memory of the local people. The study examines the human-induced risks of the Niğde Fortress and its historical settlement tissue in the Niğde urban archaeological site, and provides recommendations for the conservation-use balance. The scope of the study, human-based risks that cultural heritage is exposed to on the basis of literature review and data from the Conservation Development Plan are indicated on the maps. It has been emphasized that the human-based risks identified in the study area threaten the values of cultural heritage and this negatively affects the protection of the region.
