İnsanoğlunun yaratılışıyla birlikte ortaya çıkan ve canlı bir olgu olarak kabul edilebilecek olan din unsuru, tarih boyunca gerek bireysel düzlemde gerekse de toplumsal alanda etkili bir unsur olarak algılana gelmiştir. Din bireylerin iç huzurunu sağlamada etkili olduğu gibi, bireylerden oluşan toplumu bir arada tutmada ve topluma millet kimliği kazandırmada da son derece etkileyici olan kuvvetlerden birisi olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Bu özellikleriyle dinin, hem bir toplumun bireyi hem de bir milletin ferdi olan sanatçıları da etkilemesi ve onların sanatının malzemesi olması da kaçınılmazdır. Bu çalışmada, 20. yüzyıl Türk edebiyatının önde gelen sanatkârlarından biri olan Yahya Kemal’in sanatını şekillendiren önemli faktörlerden biri olan din, hem şairin kendi hatıralarından hareketle hem de çevresinin kendisiyle ilgili yaşantıları vasıtasıyla ele alınmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çerçevede öncelikle şairin kendisinin kaleme almış olduğu hatıralara başvurulmuş, sonrasında ise edebiyat dünyasında şair hakkında anlatılanlar ile yakın dostlarının hatıralarından yararlanılmıştır.
The religious element, which emerged with the creation of mankind and which can be regarded as a living fact, has been perceived throughout history as an effective element in the individual level or in the social field. As religiously effective in ensuring the inner peace of individuals, it stands out as one of the forces that are extremely impressive in keeping the individual society together and giving the people the identity to society. With these characteristics, it is inevitable that religion affects both the individual and the artists of a society, and that their art is a material. In this work, 20. Religion, one of the important factors that shaped the art of Yahya Kemal, one of the leading artists of the Turkish literature of the century, has been tried to be addressed through both the poet’s own memories and through his surrounding life. In this framework, it was first referred to the memories that the poet himself received, and then in the literary world, the memories of the poet and his close friends were used.
Religion, roots of which can be traced to the dawn of humanity, is an effective power in both personal and social relations through the history. It is an important factor to achieve one’s inner peace as well as binding people together and forge them into a nation. In this regard, it is natural for religion to also become a subject of art. In this study, it is aimed to discuss the role of religion in Yahya Kemal’s literary career, one of the most renowned poets of the 20th Century Turkish Literature, with regards to his own memoirs and the memoirs of his close friends and acquaintances. For this object, first his own memoires were studied and then, the memoires of his close friends and other literary figures of his era were used.
