Abstract:

Bu çalışmada , Gaziantep Üniversitesi bünyesinde yürütülen Bilimsel Araştırma Projesine(BAP) katılan öğretmenlerin STEM eğitiminin mevcut ders programlarına entegre edilebilirliğine ilişkin beklenti ve görüşlerinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Proje kapsamında 5 günlük bir hizmet içi eğitim planlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Gaziantep ilinde MEB bünyesinde faaliyet gösteren devlet ortaokullarında görev yapan, 5. ve 6. Sınıflarda derse giren 23 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcılardan 8 i Matematik, 10 u Fen Bilgisi ve 5 tanesi Bilişim Teknolojileri(BT) branşlarına ait öğretmenlerdir.5 günlük hizmet içi eğitim boyunca, belli aralıklarla katılımcılara görüşlerine başvurulmak üzere yapılandırılmış soru formları verilmiştir. Toplanan veriler nitel veri analiz yöntemlerinden içerik analizi, betimsel analiz ve karşılaştırmalı veri analizi yöntemleri kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular STEM eğitiminin mevcut ders programlarına entegrasyonun kısmen mümkün olduğunu, materyal temini ve takibi noktasında bazı sorunlar yaşanabileceğini, ders saatlerinin yetersizliğini, kalabalık sınıflarda uygulama güçlüğü yaşanabileceğini göstermiştir. Bunun yanında hizmet içi eğitimlerin öğretmenlerin kişisel ve mesleki gelişimine katkılarına, mesleki öğrenme topluluğuna sağladığı faydalarına, STEM in ulusal ölçekte yaygınlaştırılmasına ait olumlu görüşlere de yer verilmiştir.

Abstract:

This study aims to study the expectations and opinions of teachers participating in the Scientific Research Project (BAP) carried out within the Gaziantep University on the integrability of STEM training into the existing curriculum. A five-day training program is planned. Examples of the research are performed in the state high schools in the province of Gaziantep, which operate within the MEB, 5 and 6. There are 23 teachers in the class. Of the participants, 8 in Mathematics, 10 in Science and 5 in Information Technology (BT) branches are teachers.5 days of service training, in certain intervals, the participants were given structured question forms to apply to their opinions. The collected data is analyzed using content analysis, visual analysis and comparative data analysis methods from the quality data analysis methods. The findings have shown that the integration of STEM training into the existing curricula is partially possible, that some problems may occur in the material supply and tracking point, that lesson hours are insufficient, and that there may be difficulties in the application in crowded classes. In addition, the contribution of service education to the personal and professional development of teachers, the benefits it provides to the professional learning community, and the positive opinions on the dissemination of STEM on a national scale have been included.

Abstract:

In this study, it is aimed to investigate the expectations and opinions of the teachers participating in the Scientific Research Project (SRP) carried out by Gaziantep University to integrate STEM education into the current curriculum. Within the scope of the project, a 5-day in-service training is planned .The sample of the research consists of 23 teachers working in state secondary schools in the 5th and 6th grade in the province of Gaziantep. Of the participating teachers, 8 are Mathematics, 10 are Science, and 5 are Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). During the 5-day training, the participants were given structured question forms to refer to teacher views at regular intervals. The collected data were analysed by using qualitative data analysis methods; content analysis, descriptive analysis and comparative data analysis techniques. Findings have shown that the integration of STEM education into existing curricula is somewhat feasible, that there may be some problems in the subject of material and follow-up, inadequacy of class hours, and difficulty in implementation in crowded classrooms. On the other hand, in-service training has contributed to the personal and professional development of teachers, benefits of the professional learning community and positive views on STEM's national dissemination.
