Ülkemizde kadına yönelik şiddet vakalarında günden güne artış meydana gelmektedir. Kadınlar, hayatlarının bir kısmında, farklı kişiler tarafından şiddete maruz kalmakta ve bu kadınların önemli bir kısmı da hayatını kaybetmektedir. Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK), 2008 ve 2014 yıllarında Türkiye’de Kadına Yönelik Aile İçi Şiddet Araştırması gerçekleştirmiştir. Bu çalışma TÜİK 2014 yılı Mikro Veri Setlerinden elde edilen veriler ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında edilen veriler SPSS İstatistik Programı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma neticesinde Türkiye’de şiddete maruz kalan kadınların %11,7’si okuma yazma bilmemektedir. Şiddet türleri bakımından incelendiğinde kadınlar, en fazla sosyal şiddete maruz kalmaktadır. Daha sonra sırası ile sözel şiddete ve fiziksel şiddete maruz kaldıkları saptanmıştır. İlkokul seviyesinde eğitime sahip olan kadınlar en fazla cinsel şiddete maruz kalmaktadırlar. Doktora seviyesinde eğitime sahip olan kadınların ise ekonomik, cinsel ve fiziksel olarak şiddete maruz kalmadıkları belirlenmiştir. Araştırma neticesinde, kadınların eğitim seviyeleri arttıkça, şiddete maruz kalma durumlarında azalma olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

In our country, there is an increase day by day in cases of violence against women. Women, in a part of their lives, are exposed to violence by different people and a significant number of these women lose their lives. Turkey Statistical Institute (TSI), has carried out Research on Domestic Violence against Women in Turkey in 2008 and 2014. This study was carried out with the data obtained from Micro Data Sets of TurkStat 2014. The data included in the study were analyzed with SPSS Statistics Program. The women in the study were exposed to violence in Turkey are illiterate result of 11.7%. When examined in terms of violence, women are most exposed to social violence. Then, they were exposed to verbal and physical violence. Women with primary school education are exposed to sexual violence. It is determined that women who have doctoral level education are not exposed to violence in terms of economic, sexual and physical. As a result of the research, it has been determined that as women's education levels increase, there is a decrease in their exposure to violence.
