Bir milletin kültürel genetik kodlarını saptamak, o milleti diğer toplumlardan ayıran unsurların bilinmesine yani kimlik özelliklerinin tespit edilmesine dayanır. Mensubu olduğu milletin kimlik özelliklerini bünyesinde muhafaza eden halk kültürü unsurlarından biri de destandır. Destan, yüzyıllar boyunca nesilden nesle aktarılan ve aktarıldığı her dönemin kültürel izlerini bünyesinde barındıran bir türdür. Bu bağlamda ilk olarak kimlik olgusu ve Türk kimliği hakkında teorik bilgiler verilen çalışmamızda, Türk kültürüne ait genetik kodlar, geniş bir sözlü halk edebiyatı arşivine sahip Kırgız Türklerinin güzide bir destanı olan Canış-Bayış destanında tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular tasnif edilip incelenmiş ve sonuç bölümünde ise bazı değerlendirme ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Determining the cultural genetic codes of a nation is based on the identification of the elements that distinguish it from other societies, in the other hands fixing the identity characteristics. One of the elements of the folk culture that maintains the identity characteristics of the nation in which it belongs is the epic. The epic is a genre that contains the cultural traces of each period that has been transferred from generation to generation for centuries. In this context, firstly, the theoretical information about identity and Turkish identity, in our study, the genetic codes of Turkish culture have been tried to be determined in the legend of. The findings were classified and examined and some evaluation and recommendations were made in the conclusion section.
