Bu araştırmanın temel amacı, öğrenci görüşlerine göre, merkezî sınavların etkilerinin neler olduğunu belirlemek ve uygulamada ortaya çıkan olumsuzlukların giderilmesine yönelik öneriler geliştirebilmektir. Araştırmanın verileri, uzman görüşü alınarak hazırlanan ve 1 açık uçlu sorudan oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış anket formu aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Araştırma, 2011-2012 öğretim yılı bahar yarıyılında Marmara Üniversitesi Atatürk Eğitim Fakültesinde değişik bölümlerde “ölçme ve değerlendirme” dersine giren 120 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin “Eğitim Sistemimizde Merkezi Sınavların Etkileri Nelerdir?” sorusuna vermiş oldukları yazılı yanıtlar, niteliksel araştırma yöntemleri ile incelenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler, içerik analizi yardımıyla değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre, merkezî sistem sınavlarının yönetimi ve organizasyonu, soruların hazırlanması, uygulanması, değerlendirilmesi, tüm ilgililerin etkili bir şekilde bilgilendirilmeleri, sınav görevlilerinin eğitilmesi, kurumlar arası koordinasyonun sağlanması, veliler, öğrenciler ve toplumun ihtiyaç ve beklentilerinin karşılanması, gibi konularda önemli çabalara ihtiyaç bulunmaktadır. Ayrıca, merkezî sistem sınavlarının olumsuz etkilerinin ortadan kaldırılmasına yönelik eğitim planlaması ve eğitim politikası yaklaşımlarının uygulanması yararlı olabilir.
The main objective of this research is to determine what the effects of central examinations are, according to the student’s opinions, and to develop recommendations for the elimination of the negative effects arising in the practice. The data of the study was collected through a semi-configured survey form, which was prepared with the opinion of the expert and consisted of 1 open end question. The research was carried out with 120 students who entered the "measurement and evaluation" course in various departments at the University of Marmara's Ataturk Education Faculty in the spring semester of the 2011-2012 academic year. What are the effects of the students participating in the study "Central Examinations on our education system?" The written answers to the question they asked were studied by qualitative research methods. The data obtained was evaluated with the help of content analysis. According to the research findings, the management and organization of the central system examinations, the preparation, implementation, evaluation of questions, the effective information of all stakeholders, the training of the examination staff, the provision of inter-institutional coordination, the satisfaction of the needs and expectations of guardians, students and the community, require significant efforts. Furthermore, training planning and the implementation of educational policy approaches to eliminate the negative effects of central system examinations may be useful.
This study aims to determine the effects of central exams according to the view of the students and develop suggestions to prevent potential negativities in practice. Data of the study were gathered via a semi-structured 1 open-ended question answered by 120 students who attended to “Measurement and Evaluation” lecture in Marmara University Atatürk Education Faculty during spring term in between the academic year 2011-2012. The attendants answered the question “What are the effects of central exams in our education system?” in written. The data were analysed via qualitative research methods using content analysis. Results of the study indicated that the following topics require a great deal of effort to be improved: management and organization of the central exams, preparation of the questions, the application and evaluation, training of the exam officials, providing coordination between institutions and meeting the needs and expectations of parents, students and society. In addition, education planning and education policies aiming to remove the negative effects of central exams would be of help.
