İSG uzmanının iş hayatında (inşaat, tarım, gıda, kimya vb.) birçok farklı sektörlerde çalıştığı düşünüldüğünde bu kişinin almış olduğu eğitim tüm sektörlere yöneliktir. Dolayısıyla İSG uzmanının almış olduğu eğitim de tüm sektörleri kapsayacak şekilde olmaktadır. İSG uzmanının almış olduğu bu eğitim çalışmayı planladığı iş koluna yönelik olması durumunda oluşacak fayda ve kazanç çok daha fazla olacaktır. Örneğin; makine imalatı yapan bir fabrikada çalışacak İSG uzmanının gıda, maden gibi alan dışı konularda eğitim alması yerine kendi iş kolu olan makina alanında eğitim alması birçok yönden (eğitim, personel, zaman, maliyet vb.) kazanç sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir. İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği ile ilgili Mevzuat takip edildiğinde, İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Uzmanlarının çalıştığı sektördeki teknik konulara hakimiyetinin gerekliliğinin fark edildiği görülecektir.
