ATEŞTEN GÖMLEK’TE YOLCULUK ARKETİPİ

18. ve 19. Yüzyıllarda aldığı siyasi, sosyal ve ekonomik önlemlere karşın Osmanlı Devleti hızla toprak kaybeder. Bu geriye gidiş 1. Dünya Savaşı’na kadar devam eder. Bu savaşın sonunda da imzalanan Mondros Ateşkes antlaşması ile devletin fiilen paylaşılma süreci başlar. Bu süreç içinde 19 Mayıs 1919 tarihinde Mustafa Kemal’in Anadolu’ya geçmesi ile Türk milletinde bu paylaşıma karşı bir bilinç doğar. Bu bilinç düşmana karşı milli mücadeleyi başlatır. Halide Edip Adıvar’ın “Ateşten Gömlek” adlı romanı Milli Mücadele dönemini yansıtan önemli eserlerden biridir. Bu çalışmada Joseph Campbell’in Kahramanın Sonsuz Yolculuğu adlı eserinde belirtilen yolculuk arketipinin bu romanın kahramanı Peyami’de izleri incelenmiştir. Böylece farklı bir kültürün ve coğrafyanın yazarı olarak Halide Edip Adıvar’ın Peyami’nin şahsında Türk milletinin varoluş yolculuğunu anlattığı eserinde yolculuk arketipinin unsurlarına yer verdiği gösterilmiştir.

18 and 19. Despite the political, social and economic measures it has taken over the centuries, the Ottoman State is rapidly losing its land. This is back 1. It continues until the World War. At the end of this war, the Mondros ceasefire treaty, which was signed, begins the process of the state’s real division. During this process, on May 19, 1919, with the passage of Mustafa Kemal to Anadolu, a consciousness against this sharing was born in the Turkish people. This consciousness begins the national struggle against the enemy. Halide Edip Adıvar's novel "Fire T-shirt" is one of the important works that reflect the period of National Struggle. In this study, the traces of the journey archetype mentioned in Joseph Campbell's work, The Hero's Eternal Journey, are studied in the hero of this novel, Peyami. Thus, as a writer of a different culture and geography, Halide Edip Adıvar in his work described the existence journey of the Turkish people in the person of Peyami has shown that he has included the elements of the travel archetype.

With the Mondros Armistice Agreement signed at the end of this war, the process of actually sharing the Empire begins. In this process, with the passing of Mustafa Kemal to Anatolia on May 19, 1919, a consciousness arises against this sharing in the Turkish nation. This consciousness initiates the national struggle against the enemy. Halide Edip Adıvar's novel called " Ateşten Gömlek " is one of the important works reflecting the period of the national struggle. In this study, the traces of the journey archetype mentioned in Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces are examined in the hero called Peyami of this novel. Thus, as a writer of a different culture and geography, it has been shown that Halide Edip Adıvar used the elements of the journey archetype in the work in which she described the existence journey of the Turkish nation.
