Abstract:

Özet Bu araştırma; okul öncesi eğitim kurumuna devam eden beş yaş çocuklarının sosyal uyum becerileri ile anne-baba tutumları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2019-2020 eğitim yılında İzmir il merkezi Bornova ilçesinde bulunan, anasınıfına devam eden beş yaş grubundaki 200 çocuk ve anne-babaları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada verilerin toplanabilmesi amacıyla; Araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan demografik bilgileri içeren “Genel Bilgi Formu”, çocukların sosyal uyum becerilerini ölçebilmek amacıyla “Beş Yaş Çocukları İçin Marmara Sosyal Duygusal Uyum Ölçeği”; anne-babaların tutumlarını belirlemek amacıyla “Ebeveyn Tutum Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucuna göre, anne-babaların genel ebeveyn tutumu ile beş yaş çocuklarının sosyal duygusal uyum düzeyleri arasında negatif yönlü düşük bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu sonuç ebeveyn tutum düzeyleri artırıldığında, beş yaş çocuklarının sosyal duygusal uyum düzeylerinde azalış olacağını, ebeveyn tutum düzeyleri düşürüldüğünde ise beş yaş çocuklarının sosyal duygusal uyumunda artış olacağını göstermektedir.

The summary This study was conducted to explore the relationship between the social adaptation skills of five-year-old children in the pre-school institution and the parents' attitudes. The sample of the study consists of 200 children and parents of the five-year-old group, located in the Bornova district of İzmir, in the educational year 2019-2020. For the purpose of gathering data; the "General Information Form", which contains the demographic information prepared by the researcher, the "Marmara Social Emotional Adaptation Scale for Five-Year-Old Children" was used to measure the social adaptation skills of children; the "Parental Attitude Scale" was used to determine the attitudes of parents. According to the study, a negative relationship between the general parental attitude of parents and the levels of social emotional harmony of five-year-old children has been found. This outcome shows that when parents' attitude levels are increased, the five-year-old children will have a decrease in social emotional harmony levels, and when parents' attitude levels are reduced, the five-year-old children will have an increase in social emotional harmony.

Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the relationship between social adaptation skills and parental attitudes of five-year-old children attending preschool education. The sample of the study consists of 200 children and their parents in the five-year age group attending kindergarten in Bornova district of İzmir city center in 2019-2020 academic years. A “General Information Form” containing demographic information prepared by the researcher was used in order to collect data. In order to measure the social adaptation skills of children, “Marmara Social Emotional Adaptation Scale for Five Year Old Children” was used. “Parental Attitude Scale” was used to determine the attitudes of the parents. According to the results of the study, a negative correlation was found between the general parental attitude of the parents and the social emotional adjustment levels of the five-year-old children. This result indicates that when the parental attitude levels are increased, the social emotional adjustment levels of the five-year-old children will decrease, and when the parental attitude levels are decreased, the social-emotional adjustment of the five-year-old children will increase.
