Bu araştırma, Türk Resim Heykel Sanatı’nın modernleşmesinde öncü rol oynayan ressamlardan biri olan Can Göknil’’in yaşamı ve önemli eserleri üzerinden sanatçının üslubunun Türk Resim Heykel Sanatı’nın görsel dilinin oluşmasına yaptığı katkıları betimleme amacını taşımaktadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi tekniği kullanılmış olup, konu ile ilgili alan yazın taraması yapılarak bulunan kaynaklar ve eserlerden sanatçı ile ilgili bilgilere ve sanatçının eserlerine ulaşılarak eserlerin sanatsal özellikleri açısından incelemesi yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi tekniğiyle çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma bulguları günümüzün yaşayan sanatçılarından biri olan Can Göknil’in eserlerini oluştururken genellikle Anadolu mitolojisi ve folkloru gibi kültürel kaynaklardan esinlendiğini ve bu fantastik konuları modernize ederek renkçi ve soyutlanmış figüratif bir üslupla ifade ettiğini göstermiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulardan hareketle, Can Göknil’in öz kültürüne yönelerek zamanla daha anlatımcı bir nitelik kazanan kendine özgü sanat anlayışı ve sanat alanındaki üretkenliği ile Türk Resim Heykel Sanatı’nın çağdaşlaşmasına ve özgün anlatım olanaklarına kavuşmasına katkı sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
This research aims to illustrate the life of Can Göknil, one of the painters that plays a leading role in the modernization of the Turkish Painting Statue Art, and the contribution of the artist's style to the formation of the visual language of the Turkish Painting Statue Art through his important works. The research has used the document analysis technique from the quality research methods, and the research has been conducted in terms of the artistic characteristics of the works, from the sources and works found by the summer scan of the subject area. The data obtained is analyzed by content analysis technique. Research findings have shown that the works of Can Göknil, one of the living artists of today, are often inspired by cultural sources such as the Anatolian mythology and folklore, and that he expresses these fantastic subjects by modernizing in a colorful and abstract figurative style. By moving from the findings obtained from the research, it has been concluded that Can Göknil has gained a more narrative quality over time with its own unique art understanding and productivity in the field of art and contributed to the modernization of Turkish Painting Statue Art and the achievement of original narrative possibilities.
This research aims to describe the life of Can Göknil, one of the pioneers in the modernization of Turkish Painting and Sculpture, and the contribution of the artist’s style to the visual language of Turkish Painting and Sculpture. The document analysis technique, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study, literature was searched and the information about the artist and the works of the artist were reached by analyzing the literature and the works were examined in terms of their artistic characteristics. The data obtained were analyzed by content analysis technique. The findings of the research show that Can Göknil, one of the livİng artists of our time, is inspired by cultural sources such as Anatolian mythology and folklore and expresses these fantastic subjects in a coloful and abstract figurative style. Based on the findings obtained from the research, it has been concluded that Can Göknil contributes to the modernization and original expression opportunities of Turkish Painting and Sculpture Art with his unique art understanding and productivity in the field of art, which has become more narrative in time.
