Abstract:

Tourism, which gets its share more from world’s economic, political and technological development, constitutes a major part of regional planning with micro and macro benefits. Regional Development Planning started with the Ottoman Empire in Turkey. Therefore, the history of regional development plans in our country dates back to the time before the Republican Administration. Before the establishment of the State Planning Organization regional development in 1960 plans were made by the Ministry of Public Works and Settlement. In 10 development plans until now; the items related tourism is very important issue in terms of natural and cultural resources in tourism sustainability.
