Terör haberleri, ulusal ve uluslararası güvenlik tehdidi oluşturması bakımından, medya için haber değeri taşıyan konuların başında gelmektedir. Yaşanan terör olayları ve bu olaylar sonucu zarar gören kişilere ilişkin (şehit, şehit yakınları ve/veya sivil halk) haberlerde kullanılan dil ve söylem önem kazanmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın konusu, terör olaylarının geleneksel medya tarafından hangi yönleriyle ve nasıl ele aldığıdır. 31 Mart 2015 tarihinde Çağlayan Adliyesi’nde terör örgütü üyelerinin savcıyı rehin alması ve sonrasında öldürülmesi örnek olay olarak seçilmiştir. Savcının ölümünü takip eden bir haftalık süreçte geleneksel medyanın konuyu hangi haber başlıkları ve içerikle gündeme taşıdığı ele alınmıştır. Çalışmada, örneklem konusunda sınırlı kalmak adına Cumhuriyet, Birgün, Hürriyet, Akit ve Yeni Şafak gazeteleri ele alınmış ve içerik analizi yapılarak çözümlenmiş ve değerlendirilmiştir.

Terrorism is one of the leading newsworthy subjects in media since it poses a threat to national and international security. the importance of language and rhetoric used in news related to terrorism events and their victims (martyr, relatives of martyrs and/or civilian population). The subject of this study is how terror incidents and what aspects of them are handled by the traditional media. Prosecutor was taken hostage and then martyred by members of a terrorist organization at Çağlayan Courthouse on 31 March 2015, and this event was selected for the case study. With what headlines and content the traditional media handled the event during the week following the death of Prosecutor was discussed. In this study Cumhuriyet, Birgun, Hurriyet, Akit and Yeni Safak newspaper examined via content analysis and evaluated.
