1980’li yıllardan itibaren hızla artan küreselleşme, ülkelerin dünya ile entegre olma zorunluluğu ve rekabetin ön plana çıkması, gelişmekte olan ülkeler açısından Doğrudan Yabancı Sermaye Yatırımlarının önemini arttırmıştır. Bu yüzden, özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkeler, doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarını çekebilmek için yoğun çaba göstermeye başlamışlardır. Doğrudan yatırımlar; ekonomik büyüme ve kalkınmayı, istihdam artışını, teknoloji transferini, ticaret hacmi artışını beraberinde getirir. Üstelik gelişmekte olan ülkeler dış borçlarını, doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımı sayesinde finanse etme fırsatını değerlendirme yolunu seçmektedir. Ülkemize yapılan doğrudan yatırımlarda, özellikle son yıllarda bir artış yaşanmış olsa da, Türkiye sahip olduğu doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımı çekme potansiyelinin gerisinde kalmıştır. The rapidly growing globalization since the 1980s, the obligation of countries to integrate with the world, and the competition in the forefront, have increased the importance of Foreign Capital Investments for developing countries. Therefore, especially developing countries have begun to make intense efforts to attract foreign capital investments directly. Direct investments bring economic growth and development, employment growth, technology transfer, and trade volume increase. Furthermore, developing countries choose the way to evaluate the possibility of financing their foreign debt directly through foreign capital investments. Although the direct investments made in our country, especially in recent years, have seen an increase, Turkey has been behind the potential to attract foreign direct investment. This study compared the potential of Turkey and Hungary and Poland to direct investment. In addition, the country has the ability to invest.
Since the 1980s; increasing globalization, obligation to be integrated of countries with the world, prominent competition have increased the importance of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI). Therefore, especially developing countries aimed for encouraging foreign direct investments. Foreign direct investments (FDI) bring economic growth and development, employment increase, technology transfer and trading volume increase with it. Additionally, developing countries subsidise their external debt by means of foreign direct investment. In spite of the fact that foreign direct investments in our country have been increased especially in recent years, Turkey has lagged far behind its potential to attract foreign direct investment inflows. In this study; Turkey, Hungary and Poland have been compared with the potential to attract foreign direct investments. Besides, direct investment indices that compare countries in terms of investment appeal have been explained.
