Günümüzde ses kayıtları ve ses işlemleri, müzik analizi gibi alanlar dışında müzik teknolojisinde çok farklı çalışma alanları da mevcuttur. Özellikle internet teknolojisinin gelişmesiyle uzun süreden beri üzerinde halen çalışılan alanlardan biri de Müzik Sorgulama Sistemleri’dir (Music Information Retrieval, MIR). MIR’da amaç, kabaca akla takılan bir müziği internette yazıyla aramak yerine onu bilgisayara ıslıkla, mırıldanarak veya doğrudan söyleyerek bulmaktır. Bu çalışmada, MIR amaçlı günümüzde tüketiciye sunulmuş ve yaygın olarak kullanılan Shazam ve SoundHound gibi yazılımların teknik içerikleriyle, MIR sisteminin geneli konusunda bir araştırmaya yer verilmiştir. Araştırmalar sonucunda MIR sistemleri ve özelde söz konusu yazılımların günümüzde yalnızca tüketici amaçlı değil, müzisyen ve hatta müzik eğitmeni tarafından da mesleki olarak kullanılabilecek özel bir yapıya sahip olduğu görülmektedir.
Today, in addition to the fields such as audio recording and audio processing, music analysis, there are also many different fields of work in music technology. One of the areas on which the development of the internet technology has long been continuing to work is the Music Information Retrieval (MIR). In MIR, the goal is to find a music that is almost mindful, instead of searching for it by writing on the internet, by moisturizing, scratching or speaking it directly to the computer. This study included a research on the overall MIR system with the technical content of software such as Shazam and SoundHound, which is presented to the consumer for MIR purposes today and is widely used. Research finds that MIR systems and specifically software have a specific structure that can be used professionally by musicians and even music trains, not only for consumer purposes.
Nowadays, different studies on music technology are available exception of recording, processing and analyzing of music. Especially thanks to the opportunities provided by the internet technology in recent years, one of these studies is Music Information Retrieval (MIR). The purpose of MIR is to query by humming, whistling etc. of music using computer as text-based queries on internet search engine. In this study, the important studies on MIR during the last decade and technical contents of some popular MIR software such as Shazam, SoundHound are discussed. As a result, MIR is a new issue on music industry with their operating principles of popular applications and even their servicing to the musicians and music education.
