Aşk, Fransız filozof Alain Badiou için önemli kavramlardan biridir. Aşkı felsefe yapmanın koşulu olarak gören Badiou’ya göre, felsefe onunla ilgilenen kişiden bilgin, sanatçı, militan ve âşık olmasını bekler. Oysa günümüzde aşk sekteye uğramış ve adeta itibarını kaybetmiştir. Badiou’nun bu sebeple asıl amacı aşkın kaybettiği itibarı yeniden ortaya çıkartıp hakkını vermektir. Badiou aşkın yaşamımız içinde bu kadar önemli olmasını görmezden gelen felsefeye, sanata, edebiyata, siyasete, bilime karşı çıkar.
