Abstract:

Türkiye’de genç nüfusun yüksek olması, eğitim hizmetlerine olan talebi her geçen gün artırmaktadır. Türk eğitim sisteminde, eğitim için artan talebi karşılayabilmek adına Cumhuriyet’ten günümüze kadar olan süreçte tüm eğitim kademelerinde yeni uygulamaların hayata geçirilmiş olduğu bilinmektedir. Yükseköğretim kademesinde uygulamalar ele alındığında, kontenjanların artırılması tek başına yeterli olmamış, aynı zamanda kaliteyi koruyabilmek için üniversitede öğrenim görme hakkına yönelik olarak öğrencilere merkezi sınavdan başarılı olma şartının getirildiği görülmektedir. Böylece, Türk eğitim sisteminde öğrencilerin, ortaöğretim kademesinden yükseköğretim kademesine geçişte merkezi yerleştirme sınav sonucuna göre üniversiteye kabul edildikleri bilinmektedir. Ancak Türkiye’de bu sınavlar, yıllar içinde isimleri veya içeriği değişen şekilde uygulanmıştır ve uygulanmaya devam edilmektedir. Bunun son örneği ise, ortaöğretimden yükseköğretime geçişi sağlayan sınav sisteminde olan değişikliktir. Bu yeni sınav sisteminin adı, “Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı” (YKS) olarak kamuoyunda yer almaktadır. Bu araştırmada, 2018 yılında ilk defa uygulanacak olan Yükseköğretim Kurumları Sınavı hakkında lise son sınıf (12.sınıf) öğrencilerinin görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda veri toplayabilmek için, Çanakkale İbrahim Bodur Anadolu Lisesi son sınıf (12.sınıf) öğrencilerine anket uygulanmıştır. Uygulanan anket beşli likert ölçeğinden oluşmaktadır ve elde edilen veriler IBM SPSS Statistics 21 programında test edilerek analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; lise son sınıf (12.sınıf) öğrencileri, YKS’de oturum sayısının azaltılmasını, YKS’nin 1 hafta sonunu kapsamasını ve YKS’nin birinci oturumunda elde edilen 200 ve üzeri puanın ikinci yılda da kullanılabilecek olmasını olumlu bulmaktadır. Diğer taraftan lise son sınıf (12.sınıf) öğrencileri, YKS’de soru sayılarının ve sürelerinin yeterli olmadığını, YKS’nin önceki sınav sistemine göre kurs merkezine olan ihtiyacı azaltmayacağını ve YKS’nin ilk kez uygulanmasının kargaşaya sebep olacağını düşünmektedir.

The high population in Turkey, the demand for education services is increasing every day. In the Turkish educational system, it is known that new practices have been implemented in all levels of education in the process from the Republic to the present day in order to meet the growing demand for education. When dealing with the practices at the higher education level, it seems that increasing the capacities alone has not been sufficient, but that students are required to succeed in the central exam in order to maintain the quality. Thus, it is known that in the Turkish educational system students are accepted to the university according to the result of the central placement exam in the transition from the secondary to the higher education level. But in Turkey, these exams have been applied in a varied way over the years, their names or content and are continuing to be applied. The last example of this is the change in the exam system that allows the transition from high school to high school. The name of this new exam system is available in the public as "Higher Education Institutions Exam" (YKS). This study aims to determine the opinions of high school last class students (class 12) on the Higher Education Institutions Exam, which will be implemented for the first time in 2018. To be able to collect data in accordance with this purpose, the survey was applied to the students of the last class (12th grade) of the Çanakkale Ibrahim Bodur Anadolu High School. The applied survey consists of a five-liquid scale and the data obtained was tested in the IBM SPSS Statistics 21 program. According to the research results, high school final class students (12th class) find it positive to reduce the number of sessions in the YKS, cover the 1 week end of the YKS and the 200 or more points obtained in the first session of the YKS can be used in the second year. On the other hand, high school final class (12.class) students think that the number and time of questions in YKS is not sufficient, that the YKS will not reduce the need for the course center according to the previous exam system, and that the first application of YKS will cause confusion.

The high population of young people in Turkey is also increasing the demand for education services day by day. In Turkish education system, It is known that new applications have been passed down in all stages of education from the Republic to the day period in order to meet this increasing demand for the education. When the applications at the higher education stage are considered, it is seen that the increase of the quotas is not enough alone; and at the same time, in order to be able to maintain quality, the students are required to be successful in the center examination for the right to study at university. So, in Turkish education system, it is known that students are accepted to the university according to the central placement test score to transit from secondary stage to the higher education stage. However, the exams were applied as well in Turkey as its content or names changed over the years and still continue to be applied. The last example of this is a change in the examination system which provides transition from secondary stage to the higher education. The name of the new exam system is called in the public as “Higher Education Institutions Examination” (YKS). In this study, it is aimed to determine the senior of high school students’ (12th grades) views about the Higher Education Institutions Examination to be applied for the first time in 2018. In order to be able to collect data regarding to this aim, questionnaire was applied to the senior students (12th grades) of Çanakkale İbrahim Bodur Anatolian High School. The applied questionnaire is consisted of five-point likert scale and the obtained data were tested via the IBM SPSS Statistics 21 program. According to the results of the research; the senior of high school students (12th grades) find it positive to reduce the number of sessions at the YKS, to include the 1-week coverage of the YKS, and to be able to use the point which is 200 and over in the first session of the YKS in the second year. However, the senior of high school students (12th grades) think the question numbers and duration of the YKS are not adequate, the YKS will not reduce the need for the course center according to the previous examination system, and the first YKS will cause confusion.
