Sanayi Devrimi ve teknolojik gelişmelerin yaşandığı 19.yüzyıl, görsel sanatlar açısından da bir takım gelişme ve ilerlemelere sebep olmuştur. 20.yüzyıla geçtiğimizde de, modernleşme süreci hız kazanmış ve bu gelişim ve değişim günümüze kadar süregelmiştir. Yaşanan değişim ve gelişmelere, resim sanatı da ayak uydurmuş ve dönemin sosyal, kültürel ve toplumsal anlamdaki yeniliklerini yansıtarak gelişimini sürdürmüştür. İnsanoğlunun daha mağara dönemlerinden itibaren uygulamaya başladığı bu sanat dalı, beraberinde üslupsal yenilikleri de getirmiştir. Görsel anlatımlar denilince, sanat dalları içerisinde resimle birlikte fotoğraf sanatının da, 19.yüzyıla damgasını vurduğu söylenebilmektedir. Fotoğraf sanatının icadını takiben , yedinci sanat dalı olarak sinema sanatının da ortaya çıkması, bu yüzyıllar açısından önemli gelişmeler olarak sayılabilir. Sinema sanat dalı, kendine has üslubuyla yepyeni bir sanat dalıdır ve günümüze kadar teknolojik getirilerden de faydalanarak hızla gelişim kazanmıştır. Resim sanatıyla bir çok açıdan benzer ve farklı özellikleri içinde barındıran sinema, kimi yerde filmsel mekan ve zamanı sağlama sanatı olarak tanımlanırken, bir başka yerde filmlerin canlı resimler olduğu savunulur. Bu bağlamda, resim ve sinemanın ilişki içerisinde olduğu da anlaşılabilmektedir. Sinema sanatı ile resim sanatının karşılıklı ilişkileri incelendiğinde, karşımıza birkaç ortak nokta çıkacaktır. Bunlar içerisinde en önemlisi, görüntünün ortaklığıdır. Birkaç resim karesinden oluşan sinema ve ayrıca resim sanatında zaman öğesi, mekan kavramı, atmosfer, ışık-gölge gibi karşılaştırmalı kavramlara değinilmiş, her iki sanat dalının aslında optik bir illüzyon gösterisinden ibaret olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Bu ortak noktalar örneklerle de pekiştirilerek, görsel zenginlik sağlanmıştır.
The 19th century, when the industrial revolution and technological developments occurred, has also led to a number of developments and advances in visual arts. As we passed through the 20th century, the modernization process has accelerated and this development and change has continued until today. To the changes and developments that have occurred, the art of painting has also followed and continued its development, reflecting the social, cultural and social innovations of the period. This branch of art that mankind began to practice since the cave period, has brought with it the newly-famous innovations. When the visual narratives are called, it can be said that in the art branches, together with painting, the art of photography has hit its mark in the 19th century. Following the invention of photography, the appearance of cinema as the seventh branch of art can be considered significant developments in these centuries. The cinema art branch is a completely new art branch with its own style and has gained rapid development by taking advantage of technological returns until today. The cinema, which is similar in many ways to the painting art and has different characteristics, is somewhere defined as the art of providing film space and time, while somewhere it is claimed that the films are live images. In this context, it can also be understood that painting and cinema are in a relationship. When we study the mutual relationship between the art of cinema and painting, we will find a few common points. The most important of these is the partnership of image. The cinema, which consists of several painting squares, and also the painting art referred to comparative concepts such as time element, space concept, atmosphere, light-shadow, it is understood that both branches of art are actually an optical illustration of illusion. These common points are also reinforced by examples, providing visual wealth.
The 19th century, which was undergone the industrial revolution and technological development and proggress, caused some progress and development in visual arts. When we entered 20th century, modernism gained speed and this progress and change have continued until this day. Even though all the change and progress Pictorial Arts kept up with it and continued its progress by reflecting the social and cultural changes of the era. This branch of art, which humanity started to perform even from stone age, brought with it the stylistic novelty. Among the branches of arts, in the sense of visual art, even photo art with the painting art had a big impact on 19th century. Following the invention of photo art, the emergence of cinema art as the 7th branch is considered an important development for these centuries. The branch of cinema art, with its unique style, is a brand new branch and quickly gained progress by taking advantage of technological developmets. The cinema art, which has many similarities and differences with the painting art, many times was refered to as the art of providing cinematic place and time art, the other times it was argued as cinemas are living pictures. In this context, it is understood that painting and cinema are in relation. A few points will come up when mutual relation of cinema art and painting art are studied. The most important among these is the association of image. Cinema, which consists of some frames of pictures, and also the comparative terms like time, place, atmosphere, light-shadow relation in picture art are mentioned and it is understood that both branches of arts are only an illusion show. A visual rishness is achieved by corroborating this common points.
