Bu araştırmada, öğretmen adaylarının affetme özellikleri ve öz-duyarlıkları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Bunun yanı sıra, cinsiyet, eğitim görülen alan, genel mutluluk durumu ve psikolojik sorun yaşama durumuna göre değişkenlerin farklılaşıp farklılaşmadığı da incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini 2012-2013 eğitim öğretim yılında Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Buca Eğitim Fakültesi’nde okumakta olan öğretmen adayları oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın örneklemi 269’u kadın, 131’i erkek olmak üzere toplam 400 öğretmen adayından oluşmuştur. Araştırmada ölçme aracı olarak Heartland Affetme ölçeği, Öz-duyarlık ölçeği ve kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler SPSS 20 istatistik paket programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizlerde pearson momentler çarpımı korelasyonu, bağımsız örneklemler için t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre; öğretmen adaylarının affetme özelliği ve öz-duyarlık arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde olumlu yönde ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca affetme ölçeğinin tüm alt boyutları (kendini affetme, başkasını affetme, durumu affetme) ile öz-duyarlık ölçeğinin öz-sevecenlik, paylaşımların bilincinde olma ve bilinçlilik alt boyutları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzeyde olumlu yönde; öz-yargılama, izolasyon ve aşırı özdeşleşme alt boyutları arasında ise olumsuz yönde ilişkiler olduğu bulunmuştur. Öğretmen adaylarının affetme özellikleri ve öz-duyarlıklarının cinsiyete göre farklılaşmadığı; ancak eğitim alanına göre anlamlı farklılaşmalar olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca, yüksek affetme özelliği ve öz-duyarlığa sahip öğretmen adaylarının genel mutluluk düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu ve psikolojik sorun yaşamadıkları görülmüştür.
In this study, investigation of the relationship between forgiving traits and self-compassion of prospective teachers was aimed. Besides, the effects of gender, field of education, state of general happiness and state of having psychological problem were investigated. The universe was consisted of all prospective teachers attending to Faculty of Buca Education in Dokuz Eylul University during 2012-2013 academic year. The sample of research was consisted of 269 female and 131 male, totally 400 prospective teachers. Data was collected by Heartland Forgiveness Scale, Self-Compassion Scale, and a questionnaire. Data was analyzed by using SPSS 20 programme with parametric techniques as, Pearson correlation, independent sample t-test and one way ANOVA. According to results, there was statistically significant positive relationship between forgiving traits and self-compassion of prospective teachers. Besides there were statistically significant positive relationships among all subscales of forgiveness scale (forgiveness of self, others and situation) and self-kindness, common humanity and mindfulness subscales of self-compassion scale and there were statistically significant negative relationships among all subscales of forgiveness and self-judgment, isolation and over-identification subscales of self-compassion scale. It was found that, there was no statistically significant difference between forgiving traits and self-compassion of prospective teachers according to gender. There were statistically significant differences between forgiving traits and self-compassion of prospective teachers according to field of education. Moreover, it was seen that the prospective teachers who had high forgiving trait and self-compassion had also high level of happiness and they didn’t have any psychological problems.
