Bu çalışmanın amacı, kadının hem evde ürettikleriyle hem de toplumsal yaşamın diğer alanlarında ürettikleriyle çalışma yaşamının en önemli ögelerinden biri olmasına rağmen, uğramış olduğu ekonomik şiddeti ve bunun cam tavan (glass ceiling) kavramıyla bağlantısını ortaya koymaktır. Önemli bir toplumsal gerçek olan şiddet, ister gelişmiş ister gelişmekte olsun tüm toplumlarda gündelik yaşamın pek çok boyutunda, farklı biçimlerde karşımıza çıkmaktadır. “Bir kişi veya topluluğun fiziksel ve ahlaki bütünlüğüne, mülkiyetine, kültürel ve sembolik değerlerine karşı herhangi birey, grup ya da örgütlü bütünlük tarafından verilen zarar veya fiziksel ya da psikolojik acı” (Acet,2005:75) olarak ifade edilen şiddet, toplumlarda özellikle kadın ve çocukları hedef almakta, onları mağdur duruma düşürmektedir. İnsan hakları açısından hak ve özgürlük ihlali olarak karşımıza çıkan kadına yönelik şiddetin birçok türü vardır. Bunlar: fiziksel şiddet, cinsel şiddet, psikoloji şiddet, kültürel şiddet ve konumuzun odağında olan ekonomik şiddettir. Ekonomik şiddet kadının, “emeğine, yarattığı/ürettiği değere, varlıklarına, kazanma gücüne, kazancına, karar alma hakkına el koymaktır” (Işık,2007:115). The aim of this study is to reveal the economic violence it has suffered and its connection to the concept of glass ceiling, although it is one of the most important elements of work life with what the woman produces at home and in other areas of social life. Violence, which is an important social reality, is faced with us in many dimensions of daily life in all societies, whether developed or evolving, in different forms. Violence expressed as “a damage or physical or psychological suffering of any individual, group or organized integrity to the physical and moral integrity, property, cultural and symbolic values of a person or community” (Acet, 2005:75) is targeting women and children in societies, especially, and makes them victims. There are many types of violence against women that are faced as a violation of rights and freedoms in terms of human rights. These are: physical violence, sexual violence, psychology violence, cultural violence and the economic violence that is at the heart of our subject. “Economic violence is the deprivation of the right of the woman to eat, to the value she creates, to her assets, to her gain, to her profit, to her decision” (Light, 2007:115). The glass roof, which began to be discussed by researchers especially in the 1980s, is the company of women and minority groups.
The aim of this study is to present the economic violence that women are exposed to despite being one of the most important elements of the professional life in terms of their production at home in the other fields of social life, as well as the connection of this violence with the glass ceiling concept.
