İnsan renklerle kuşatılmıştır. Bu kuşatılmışlık o kadar güçlüdür ki renkler çoğunlukla sorgulamadan içselleştirilen bir alışkanlığa dönüşmektedir. Bütün bir yaşam, renk ve onların sorgulanmadan alışkanlığa dönüştürülmüş anlamları üzerine kurulmaktadır. Oysa renkler, doğduğumuz andan itibaren ölünceye kadar bütün kararlarımızı etkilemektedir. Bu araştırma, Amasya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi 4.sınıf öğrencilerinin renk dünyalarını tanımak ve renklere ilişkin sahip oldukları algıları, metaforlar yardımıyla ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden "olgu bilim" kullanılmıştır. Bu amaç için öğrencilerden kendilerine sunulan ana (kırmızı, sarı ve mavi) ve ara renklere (turuncu, mor ve yeşil) ilişkin metafor üretmeleri istenmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını, Amasya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi 4. sınıfında okuyan 160 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada, öğretmen adaylarından “renk (belirtilerek) ...….gibidir, Çünkü;………” şeklinde anket doldurmaları istenmiştir. Araştırma sonunda, katılımcılar renklere ilişkin olarak toplam 122 adet geçerli metafor üretmişlerdir. Toplam kategori sayısı 6 olmuştur. Kırmızı için 60 öğrenci tarafından 24 metafor, turuncu için 30 öğrenci tarafından 21 metafor, sarı için 48 öğrenci tarafından 19 metafor, mor için 42 öğrenci tarafından 35 metafor, mavi için 53 öğrenci tarafından 15 metafor ve son olarak yeşil için 51 öğrenci tarafından 18 metafor üretilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen bulgulara bir bütün olarak bakıldığında, eğitim-öğretim sürecinde, okul mimarisinden eğitim materyal ve araç-gereçlerine kadar turuncu rengin baskın olarak kullanılması ve ağırlıklı olarak mavi ve yeşil ile desteklenmesi gerektiği söylenebilir. Kırmızı ve morun ise kullanımında özenli davranılması gerektiği, uygun zemin ve ortamlarda kullanıldığında çok zengin ve yararlı etkiler bırakacağı söylenebilir.
Human life is an environment surrounded with colors. This siege is very strong. Therefore, the colors are converted to an unquestioned habit. Life is based on this sense. However, colors effects all our decisions from birth to death. This research’s aim is to reveal the students perceptions who attend 4th grade in Amasya University Faculty of Education about colors with the help of metaphors. Phenomenologic method was used in the study. A total of a hundred sixty students from Education Faculty of Amasya University who proceed 4th grade participated in the study. Participants completed the prompt “Color is like ..... because …..” by focusing on one metaphor. According to the results, 122 personal metaphors and 6 conceptual categories, based on the participants’ metaphorical images, were identified. For the color of red, 24 metaphors have been produced by 60 students. For the color of orange, 21 metaphors have been produced by 30 students. For the color of yellow, 19 metaphors have been produced by 48 students. For the color of purple, 35 metaphors have been produced by 42 students. For the color of blue 15 metaphors have been produced by 53 students.And finally for the color of green 18 metaphors have been found by 51 students. If we look at the final outcomes of this study; we can say that in the progress of education, the color of orange should be used in the architectural structure of schools and the school materials. Also orange should be supported by the color of blue and green. In addition to that, the color of purple and red must be used very carefully. At the correct use of these colors, they can be very effective.
