ÖZEL EĞİTİM OKULLARINDA ÇALIŞAN ÖĞRETMENLERİN UMUTSUZLUK DÜZEYLERİNİN BELİRLENMESİ

Abstract:

Bu araştırmada, özel eğitim okullarında çalışan öğretmenlerin umutsuzluk düzeylerinin çeşitli değişkenlere göre belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma, 2012-2013 eğitim-öğretim yılı, Erzurum İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı özel eğitim okullarında görev yapan 88 öğretmen ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma da betimsel yöntemlerden tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında, Beck (1974) tarafından geliştirilen ve Türkçeye uyarlaması Seber (1991) tarafından yapılmış olan “Beck Umutsuzluk Ölçeği” ve araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanmış olan kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 20.0 paket programında, frekans (f) ve yüzde (%) hesaplamaları, t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) istatistiksel işlemleri uygulanarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgulara göre, özel eğitim öğretmenlerinin genel olarak orta düzeyde umutsuzluk yaşadıkları belirlenmiştir. Özel eğitim okullarında çalışan öğretmenlerin yaş, medeni durum, eğitim düzeyi ve kıdem yılı değişkenleri ile umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olmadığı, ancak deneklerin görev yaptıkları okul ve cinsiyet değişkenleri ile umutsuzluk düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Abstract:

In this research, the aim was the determination of hopelessness levels of teachers employed in special education schools according to various variables. The study was realized with 88 teachers that are employed in special education schools bound to Erzurum provincial directorate for national education in 2012-2013 academic years. In the research, scanning method among descriptive methods was used. In collection of the research data, Beck Hopelessness Scale which was developed by Beck in 1974 and was adapted to Turkish in 1991 by Seber and personal information form prepared by the researcher was used. The obtained data was analyzed in SPSS 20.0 package program by frequency and percentage calculations, application of statistical operations such as t test and one way analysis of variance (ANOVA). According to data obtained from the research it was determined that special education teachers have medium level of hopelessness. It was determined that there is not a significant relation between hopelessness of special education teachers and age, marital status, education level and length of service variables and that there is a significant difference between employed school and gender variables of special education teachers and their hopelessness levels.
