Abstract:

İşbirlikli öğrenme, günümüzde öğretmenlere sınıflarında kullanmaları için en çok önerilen öğrenci merkezli yöntemlerdendir. İşbirlikli öğrenmede öğrenciler küçük gruplar halinde, karşılıklı olumlu bağımlılık içinde birbirlerini teşvik ederek ve yönlendirerek öğrenirler. Alanyazın işbirlikli öğrenmenin gerek akademik başarıyı dolaylı olarak etkileyen becerileri geliştirdiğini, gerekse akademik başarıyı doğrudan etkilediğini gösteren çalışmalarla doludur. Takım-oyun-turnuva da (TOT) öğretim ortamlarında en çok uygulanan işbirlikli öğrenme yöntemlerinden biridir. Öğretmenin sunumun ardından oluşturulan takımların birbirlerine soru sormaları biçiminde yarıştıkları bir yöntemdir. Bu çalışmada geleneksel öğretim yöntemiyle TOT’un 5. sınıfların sosyal bilgiler dersi başarı düzeylerine etkisi ölçülmüştür. Araştırmada gerçek deneme modellerinden öntest- sontest kontrol gruplu model kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu 2017-2018 öğretim yılında Artvin ilinin Orta mahallesinde bulunan Atatürk Ortaokuluna devam eden 40 5. Sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada 20 kişilik olan 5-A sınıfı deney grubu olarak, 20 kişilik olan 5-B sınıfı da kontrol grubu olarak seçilmiştir. Deney ve kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere Etkin Vatandaşlık öğrenme alanı kapsamındaki MEB sosyal bilgiler öğretim programında yer alan kazanımlar ölçüt ve hedef alınarak uygulanmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak araştırmacılar tarafından çoktan seçmeli bir test olarak geliştirilen başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 17 istatistik paket programı yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda çalışma grubundaki öğrencilerin takım oyun turnuva yönteminin geleneksel yönteme göre sosyal bilgiler başarısı üzerindeki etkisinin anlamlı biçimde fazla olduğu görülmektedir.

Collaborative learning is one of the most recommended student-centered methods for teachers to use in their classes today. In collaborative learning, students learn in small groups, by encouraging and guiding each other in mutual positive dependence. The field is filled with studies that show that collaborative learning needs to develop skills that indirectly affect academic success and, if necessary, directly affect academic success. Team-play-turn also (TOT) is one of the most applied collaborative learning methods in the teaching environments. It is a method that teachers compete in the form of the teams formed after the presentation to ask each other questions. In this study, the traditional teaching method of TOT 5. The influence of class social information classes on the level of success is measured. In the study, the pre-test-Estest control group model was used from real test models. The research work group of the 2017-2018 academic year continues to the Ataturk High School located in the middle district of Artvin. The class student is formed. As a 5-A class experimental group for 20 people, the 5-B class for 20 people was also selected as a control group. Students in the experiment and control group are implemented by measuring and targeting the achievements included in the MEB social information curriculum within the framework of the Effective Citizenship Learning Area. The success test, which has been developed by researchers as a selective test as a data collection tool, has been used. The data obtained was analyzed using the SPSS 17 statistical package program. The study finds that the impact of the team game tournament method of students in the working group on social information success is significantly greater than the traditional method.

The Impacts Of Teams-games-tournaments On Academic Achievement In Social Studies Course

Cooperative learning is one of the most students centered methods that is suggested to teachers for today’s learning environments. The aim of this study is to compare the effects of (TGT), which is one of the cooperative methods, and conventional teaching method on 5th graders’ academic achievement in a social studies course. Pretest-posttest model with a control group that is one of the true experimental designs was used. The study group of the research consisted of 40 5th graders who attended Atatürk Secondary School in Artvin central district in 2017-2018 school year. 5-A class (n=20) was chosen as experimental group and 5-B class (n=20) was chosen as control group for the research. Objectives in Ministry of National Education Social Studies Curriculum, as part of Active Citizenship learning domain, applied to the students in both experimental and control groups as criterion. Academic achievement test was used as data collection tool which was developed by the researchers as a multiple choice test. Obtained data was analyzed by using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). At the end of the study it was found that using TGT is more effective than using the conventional method on 5th graders academic achievement in social studies course.
