REHABİLİTASYON MERKEZLERİNDE GÖREV YAPAN SINIF ve OKUL ÖNCESİ ÖĞRETMENLERİN KURUM HAKKINDAKİ GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract:

Günümüzde eğitim alma hakkı tüm bireylere anayasal bir hak olarak verilmiştir. Eğitim, normal öğrencilere devlet okullarında parasız olarak verilirken özel yani engelli bireylere ise eğitim masrafları devlet tarafından ödenen özel rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde verilmektedir. Özel eğitim öğretmenlerinin sayıca az olmalarından dolayı öğretmen ihtiyacını karşılamak amacıyla MEB tarafından başta sınıf ve okul öncesi öğretmenleri olmak üzere diğer branşlardan mezun olan öğretmenlere yönelik sertifika programı düzenlenmektedir. Bu sertifikaya sahip olan öğretmenlerde rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde görev yapabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde çalışan sınıf ve okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin kurum ile ilgili görüşlerini tespit etmek amaçlanmıştır. Tarama modelinde yapılan çalışma, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir örnekleme ile belirlenen 25 öğretmenin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak birinci bölümde kişisel bilgi formu, ikinci bölümde ise araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen beş sorudan oluşan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Katılımcılardan soruları yazılı olarak cevaplamaları istenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen verilerin analizinde betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda katılımcıların çoğu atanamadıkları için rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde çalışmayı seçtiklerini, herhangi bir atanma durumunda bu kurumdan ayrılacaklarını, rehabilitasyon merkezlerindeki çalışma koşullarının oldukça ağır ve yıpratıcı olduğunu, alınan ücretlerin yapılan iş karşısında yetersiz kaldığını ve kendilerine yeterince zaman ayıramadıklarını olumsuz görüşler olarak belirtmişlerdir. Bu görüşlerin yanı sıra katılımcılar tarafından rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde çalışmanın kendilerini geliştirdiği, farklı bir alanı tanıma imkânı buldukları, özel gereksinimli bireylere yönelik farkındalık kazandıklarını ifade eden olumlu görüşlerde belirtilmiştir.

Renewal and Pre-School Teachers' Opinion on the Institution in the Rehabilitation Centers

Abstract:

Today, the right to education is given to all individuals as a constitutional right. Education is provided for ordinary students in public schools for free, while for private persons with disabilities, education costs are provided in private rehabilitation centers paid by the state. In order to meet the needs of teachers due to the lack of number of special educational teachers, MEB organizes a certification program for teachers who are graduated from other branches, primarily class and pre-school teachers. Teachers who have this certificate can work in rehabilitation centers. This study aims to identify the opinions of classmates and pre-school teachers working in rehabilitation centers regarding the institution. The study in the screening model was carried out with the participation of 25 teachers identified by easy-to-access sample methods of targeted sampling. As a data collection tool, the first part uses a personal information form and the second part uses a semi-configured conversation form consisting of five questions developed by the researcher. The participants were asked to answer the questions in writing. Imaginary analysis of the data obtained in the study was used. As a result of the study, the majority of participants have chosen to work in the rehabilitation centers because they cannot be appointed, they will leave this institution in any case of appointment, the working conditions in the rehabilitation centers are very heavy and devastating, the remunerations received remain insufficient in relation to the work done and they have not been able to spend enough time on them. In addition to these opinions, the participants expressed positive opinions that the work in rehabilitation centers developed themselves, they found the possibility of recognizing a different field, they gained awareness of individuals with special needs.

Today, traineeship is given to all individuals as a constitutional right. While education is given to the ordinary individuals in state schools free, special training whose expenses are paid by the government is given to the special, that is, disabled individuals in rehabilitation centers. For the fact that the number of special education trainers is inadequate, some certification programs are held for teachers that graduated from other disciplines, especially the graduates from elementary and pre-school departments, by the ministry of national education in order to supply the need of educators. The trainers that own this type of certificate have the right of working in rehabilitation centres. It is aimed in this study to detect the opinions of elementary and pre-school teachers working in rehabilitation centres about their institutions. The study that was conducted in survey model was carried out with the participation of 25 teachers that was determined via convenient sampling among purposive sampling models. The data collection of the study consists of two stages. In the first stage, a personal information protocol was used and in the second stage, a semi-structured interview protocol developed by the researcher and consisting of 5 open-ended questions was used as data collection tools. The participants were asked to answer the questions in a written form. In the analysis of the obtained data, descriptive analysis was used. As a result of the study, most of the participants stated as negative opinions that they had to start working in rehabilitation centers because they weren’t able to be appointed, the working conditions of the rehabilitation centers were hard and backbreaking, the wages were not sufficient compared to the workload and they couldn’t spare enough time for themselves because of their work. In addition to these negative opinions, the participants stated as positive opinions that working in rehabilitation centers improved themselves, they had the opportunity to know a different field, they gained awareness towards the individuals with special needs.
