Information storage behavior is an attitude that has been demonstrated by researchers in which it is theoretically differentiated from similar concepts, such as information sharing/sharing, information accumulation, organizational silence, and which expresses the fear of employees to transfer their resources to third parties who demand the valuable information they possess for various reasons. According to the advice of researchers who point out the importance of the studies on the pioneers and followers of information storage behavior, in this study, it is predicted that the organizational policy perception, which is a contextual variable, will form the processes of organizational information management as a facilitator of the behavior of information storage, and that the organizational policy perception, which is a contextual variable, will also regulate the relationship. The hypotheses developed in the context of theoretical foundations were studied in the context of horizontal cutting data collected from a white-caped study group. According to the research, the behavior of storage of information was found to be linked to a low level of organizational justice perception only to the size of interactive justice; the type of ignorance had only a relative impact on the behavior of storage of information. Between the underdimensions of organizational justice and the organizational policy that is perceived, significant and reverse relationships have been established at high levels. The basic findings of the study are that the perception of organizational justice has a meaningful impact on the size of information storage of the only type of ignorance and that the perception of organizational policy plays a regulatory role in the reduction of the power of the relations between the two variables.
The concept and construct of knowledge hiding has recently been conceptually distinguished from similar concepts such as knowledge sharing/withholding, knowledge hoarding and organizational silence and it has been theoretically proven to be a multidimensional construct comprising of three distinct sub-scales, namely playing dumb, rationalized hiding and evasive hiding. Knowledge hiding has been defined as an intentional practice of avoiding sharing knowledge with someone who has explicitly requested to learn it, on grounds of various reasons. Researchers have pointed to the significance of future research on antecedents and consequences of knowledge hiding behavior. As a response to this call, the present study investigates employees’ perceptions of organizational justice as a potential antecedent of knowledge hiding behavior and analyzes the role of perceived organizational politics as a contextual moderating variable. The theory-driven hypotheses are tested on a sample of white-collar employees. According to the findings of the study, the only correlation between knowledge hiding and justice perceptions occurs between interactional justice dimension and playing dumb type of knowledge hiding at a relatively low level. However, there are significantly negative and relatively high correlations between organizational justice perceptions and perceived organizational politics. Organizational justice perceptions have significant effects on participants’ playing dumb type of knowledge hiding behavior and perceptions of organizational politics play a buffering role in the relationship between perceived organizational justice and playing dumb subscale of knowledge hiding.
