The study examined the validity and reliability of the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale (WEMIO-Region) on a group of 348 Turkish teachers. The purpose of the study is to test the model conformity of the scale with the verifying factor analysis, as the existing factor structure is adapted to a different culture and language, and the validity of the structure is assessed. The X2/sd ratio was 4,01; RMSEA = 0,09; GFI = 0,89; AGFI = 0,85; RMR = 0,045; SRMR = 0,063; and the CFI, NFI, NNFI, IFI and RFI values were above 0.90. When the results of the DFA relating to the WEMIO area are studied, it can be said that the one-dimensional structure of the measurement instrument consisting of 14 items in Turkey is confirmed as a model in determining the levels of mental well-being of teachers. The results of the research show that the original form of the WEMIO-Region is combined with the factor structure of the Turkish-adapted form applied to a group of Turkish teachers. In reliability studies, the WEMIO-Region's Cronbach's Alfa internal consistency reliability ratio measurement tool was found at 0.87. The test re-test reliability stability rate is 0.79. These results indicate that the measurement tool is reliable. As a result, the one-dimensional structure of the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Wellbeing Scale, which consists of 14 items, can be said to be a reliable and valid tool that can be used in determining the levels of mental wellbeing of teachers in Turkey.
In the study, the validity and reliability of the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WEMWBS) on a group of 348 Turkish teachers were examined. Because the purpose of the study is to adapt an existing factor structure to a different culture and language, the model fit of the scale was tested by confirmatory factor analysis and then structural validity the scale was assessed. X2/sd ratio in the study is 4.01; RMSEA= 0,09; GFI= 0,89; AGFI= 0,85; RMR= 0,045; SRMR= 0,063; CFI, NFI, NNFI, IFI and RFI values were found to be above 0,90. According to the confirmatory factor analysis results of the scale, the 14-item and one-dimensional structure of the scale was validated as a model to determine the mental well-being levels of teachers in Turkey. The results of the study show that the factorial structure of the Turkish form of WEMWBS applied on a group of Turkish teachers overlaps the factor structure of the original form of the WEMWBS. Internal consistency reliability coefficient (Cronbach's Alpha) of the WEMWBS was found to be 0,87. The test-retest reliability coefficient is 0,79. These results show that the measuring tool is reliable. As a result, the 14-item and one-dimensional structure of the WEMWBS is a valid and reliable scale that can be used to measure the mental well-being levels of teachers in validated as a model to determine the mental well-being levels of teachers in Turkey.
