Barış kavramı; “barışma işi, savaşın bittiğinin bir antlaşmayla belirtilmesinden sonraki durum, sulh, uyum, karşılıklı anlayış ve hoşgörü ile oluşturulan ortam” şeklinde tanımlanmaktadır. Metafor, “karşılaştırma” anlamında kullanılan bir kelimedir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, Trakya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi’nin Türkçe ve Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitimi Bölümü, Sosyal Bilgiler Eğitimi Programı’nda öğrenim gören öğretmen adayı öğrencilerin “barış” kavramına ilişkin algılarının metaforlar aracılığıyla belirlemektir. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden betimsel bir araştırmasıdır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda söz konusu öğretmen adaylarının “barış” kavramını hangi metaforlar aracılığıyla algılamakta olduğu incelenmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “yarı-yapılandırılmış anket formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan form, demografik değişkenler ile katılımcıların “Barış … gibidir, çünkü…” cümlesini tamamlamaları istenen bölümden oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada elde edilen veriler, öğrencilerin “barış” kavramı ile ilgili yazılı açıklamalarından elde edilmiştir. Toplanan verilerin işlenmesinde metaforik içerik analizi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada veriler öncelikle frekans ve yüzde tabloları halinde özetlenmiştir. “Barış” kavramına yönelik algıları arasındaki ilişkiler ile bu algıların demografik özelliklere göre benzerlik veya farklılıkları olup olmadığı analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemi; 2017-2018 öğretim yılı Trakya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencilerinden oluşmaktadır.

The aim of the study is to define perceptions of Trakya University Education Faculty Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education, Social Studies Teacher Candidates, about “peace” via metaphors. The study is qualitative and descriptive field research. In accordance with this purpose, it has been investigated that via which metaphors the teacher candidates in question perceive “peace” concept. Semi-structured questionnaire form” has been used as data collection tool. The form includes expressions as “peace is like… because… The data obtained from the study has been gained from the written explanations of the students about “peace” concept. Metaphorical content analysis techniques have been used for data process. The data initially has been summarized as frequency and percentage tables. The relations between the “peace” concept and if these perceptions vary or not according to demographical features have been analyzed. The sample of the study consists of Trakya University 2017-2018 education year Education faculty students.
