Abstract:

The demand for air travel and the complexity of the system has made a rapid progress on the air transportation industry; airports and airline operators as key actors of the industry have drawn attention as the parties that are affected most from these developments and that affect them.When these progresses are considered in terms ofairport and airline, the two key actors of the sector, the importance of passenger experience has been much better understood and the airports have had a new identity by not becoming a gateway anymore as destination.Nowadays, providing a good experience to the passengers has become a necessity in the perspective of profitability in aviation, instead of being an option anymore.In this study, various sectors and research methods have been blended and the portrait of the future passenger experienceshave been revealed as knowledge and communication based.While realizing this, the applications and necessary components that make the future travel experience more predictable have been researched and studied by focusing on digital and data centered works in the aviation sector.
