Bu araştırmanın amacı, Türkiye’de yapılan ve evli bireylerin evlilik doyumunun araştırıldığı tezlerin inceleyerek evlenme biçimine ilişkin bulguları meta-analiz yöntemi ile sentezlemek; bunun sonucunda evlilik doyumu ile evlenme biçimi arasındaki farkın büyüklüğü ve yönünü ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bu amaçla yükseköğretim kurulu başkanlığı ulusal tez merkezi veri tabanından evlilik doyumunu konu alan 64 teze ulaşılmıştır. Bu tezlerden evlenme biçimi değişkenlerine ilişkin ve kodlama protokolüne uygun veriler içeren 13 tez, araştırmaya dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini toplam 2845 kişi oluşturmaktadır. Evlilik doyumunun evlenme biçimine göre etki büyüklüğü, alan yazında Cohen d olarak bilinen Standardize Ortalamalar Farkı (SOF) analiz yöntemi kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Analiz sürecinde hem sabit etkiler hem de rastgele etkiler modelleri için değerler hesaplanmıştır. Meta-analize dahil edilen çalışmalarda yayın yanlılığı olup olmadığını belirleyebilmek için huni grafiği, Orwin’in Güvenli N Sayısı, Egger’in Regresyon Testi ve Duval ve Tweedie’nin Kırp ve Doldur yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Meta-analizde yayın yanlılığı olup olmadığını belirlemek için kullanılan yöntemler sonucunda araştırmada yayın yanlılığının olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre evlenme biçimi açısından hem sabit etkiler modeline hem de rastgele etkiler modeline göre flört ederek evlenenler lehine önemsiz düzeyde (SEM: d=-0.72 REM: d=-0.19) bir etki büyüklüğü bulunmuştur. Homojenlik testi sonucuna göre, çalışmanın evlenme şekli (Q=82,73, p=0.00; I2= 85,49) açısından heterojen olduğu bulunmuştur. Elde edilen sonuçlar, ilgili alan yazın çerçevesinde tartışılmış ve önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The purpose of this research is to apply a meta-analysis to determine whether there is a difference in marital satisfaction according to the way of marriage. For this purpose, 64 thesis about the subject of marriage satisfaction was reached from the databases of National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education. Thirteen theses, which include the way of marriage variable, and data that correspond to the coding protocol were included in the meta-analysis. The sample of the study consisted of 2845 people. The effect size of marriage satisfaction by the way of marriage was determined by using the Standardized Mean Difference (SMD) analysis method known as Cohen’s d in the literature. In the analysis process, values were calculated for both fixed effects and random effects models. As a result of Egger's Regression Test, Orwin's Fail-Safe N, Duval and Tweedie's Trim and Fill method and funnel graph, it was determined that there was no publication bias in the research. In the study, a negligible effect size in favour of people who married after flirting was found both the fixed effects model and random effects models (Fixed: d = -0.72 Random: d = -0.19) and the study was heterogeneous (Q=82,73, p=0.00; I2= 85,49). The findings of the research were discussed in the context of the relevant field and some suggestions were presented.
