Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmenlerin öz yeterlik algılarını etkileyen değişkenleri incelemektir. Bu amaçla öğretmenlerin öz yeterlik algı düzeylerinin cinsiyet, çalıştıkları kurum türü, mezun oldukları okul, kıdem ve branşlarına göre farklılaşma durumları incelenmiştir. Araştırma, betimsel tarama modeline göre tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, İstanbul’da resmi ve özel ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan sınıf öğretmenleri ile 6.-8. sınıflarda görev yapan Türkçe, Matematik, Sosyal Bilgiler, Fen ve Teknoloji, Müzik, Resim, Beden Eğitimi, Yabancı Dil, Bilgisayar, Sosyal Bilgiler, Din Kültürü ve Ahlak Bilgisi öğretmenleri oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, İstanbul’daki resmi ve özel ilköğretim okullarında çalışan gönüllü öğretmenlerden, oransız kademeli örnekleme yöntemine göre örneklem seçme formülü kullanılarak belirlenmiştir. Örneklem tayini için kullanılan formüle göre, örneklem sayısı 1536 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Ölçekleri eksiksiz yanıtlayan 1691 öğretmen örneklem olarak kabul edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplamak amacıyla kullanılan birinci ölçek, öğretmenlerin öz- yeterliklerini saptamak amacıyla Gibson ve Dembo (1984) tarafından geliştirilen ve daha sonra Guskey ve Passaro (1994) tarafından yeniden gözden geçirilen “Öğretmen Yeterlik Ölçeği” dir. Ölçeğin Türkçe uyarlaması, yapı geçerliği ve güvenirlik çalışması Diken (2005) tarafından yapılmıştır. Ölçeğin iç tutarlılık katsayısı .71 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Araştırmada öğretmenlerin kişisel bilgilerini saptamak amacıyla kullanılan bir diğer veri toplama aracı da “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”dur. Araştırma sonucunda, ilköğretim öğretmenlerinin öz-yeterlik algıları ile cinsiyetleri, okul türü, mesleki kıdemleri arasında anlamlı farklılaşma saptanmıştır. Öğretmenlerin öz-yeterlik algıları ile mezun oldukları okul türü ve branşları arasında anlamlı farklılık bulunamamıştır.

The aim of this study is to investigate the factors affecting professional effectiveness perception elementary school teachers. Within this scope,whether self-efficacy perception levels of elementary school teachers differ in terms of gender, institution type they are working, schools they graduated, seniority and their subject is examined. This study is designed as descriptive survey model. Population of this study consists of Turkish, Mathematics, Social Sciences, science and technology, Music, Ars, Physical Education, Foreign Language, Computer and religious culture and moral knowledge teachers who worked in private and public schools for 6.-8th grades in Istanbul. The sample, however, is determined by disproportionate stratified sampling. A formula is generated based on this sampling method. The sample consisted of volunteer teachers from private and public schools in İstanbul. The sample is determined as 1536 according to the formula used. Teachers who completed the scales without any missing information is chosen for sample which are 1691 teachers. The first scale, Teacher Efficacy Scale, was used to define self-efficacy of teachers. It was developed by Gibson & Dembo (1984) and revised by Guskey & Passaro (1994). Turkish adaptation, validity and reliability analysis were done by Diken (2005). Coefficient consistency value is .71. The order to define personal information of teachers, Personal Information Sheet was also used. The result of the study showed that, perception of self-efficacy of elementary school teachers is different in terms of gender, kind of school and vocational seniority. There is no meaningful difference between perception of self-efficacy and kind of graduated school, the major.
