İlimler tasnifi konusu tasnifi yapan filozofun varlık ve bilgi felsefesiyle yakından ilişkili olmasından dolayı önemli bir meseledir. Hatta filozofun varlığın gerçek bilgisini elde etme yolunda benimsediği yöntem ve bu konuda dini bilgiye bir rol verip vermediği de onun ilimleri tasnifine yansımaktadır. Bundan dolayıdır ki, filozofun din-felsefe ilişkisine dair görüşlerinin izdüşümüne bu alanda rastlanmaktadır. Bu durum bize ilimler tasnifini incelemenin filozofun varlıkla kurduğu ilişkiyi incelemek olduğunu göstermektedir. İlimler tasnifinin ontolojik bir boyutu olduğu gibi onun felsefesinin pratik yönüyle de doğrudan ilişkili bir yönü vardır. Bu yön de onun ilimlerin öğrenim ve öğretim sürecinde izlenecek sıranın ve benimsenecek metodun tespiti noktasında yardımcı olmasıdır. İslam düşüncesinde öne çıkan hemen her büyük filozof ilimler tasnifiyle ilgili görüşlerini ortaya koymuştur. Ebü’l-Berekât da kendinden önceki filozoflar tarafından yapılan tasnifleri incelemiş ve kendi felsefesi doğrultusunda yeni tasnifler önermiştir. Ancak o, kendinden önceki filozoflara bu konuda eleştiriler getirmesine rağmen, bize bütünlüklü bir tasnif de bırakmamıştır. Kitâbü’l-Mu‘teber’de ilimler tasnifiyle ilgili olarak farklı öneriler yer almaktadır. Biz bu çalışmada onun Meşşâî filozofların tasnifleri hakkındaki değerlendirme ve eleştirilerinden hareketle onun adına birden fazla tasnif ortaya koymaya ve bunlar arasında da en fazla öne çıkanı tespite çalışacağız. Bu doğrultuda hareket ederken bir taraftan da önerilen tasnifin ne tür kriterler üzerine kurgulandığı, filozofun felsefesiyle –bilhassa da onun epistemolojisiyle- hangi yönlerden örtüştüğü ve kendinden önceki tasniflerden de hangi yönlerden farklılaştığını ortaya koymaya çalışacağız.
Classification of sciences is significant because of its relation to ontology and epistemology of philosopher. Moreever, the method that philosopher use to attain the true knowledge of existent and whether he gives a role to the religious knowledge on this, can affect his classification. Therefore the affections of philosopher’s views about the relationship between philosophy and religion are found in this area. This situation shows us that examining the classification of sciences is the study of the relationship of philosopher’s with existent. Just as the classification of sciences has an ontological dimension, also it has a direct aspect with the practical area of his philosophy. The aspect is helpful to determinate the followed sequence in his teaching and learning process and method. Almost every major philosopher in Islamic thought explained his views regarding to classification of sciences. Abū al-Barakāt al-Bagdādī examined the classification of previous philosophers and proposed his classification. Even though he criticizes previous classifications, he did not compose a complete schema for classification of sciences. There are different proposals for the classification of sciences in his Kitāb al-Mo‘tabar. In this work, we will try to put forth more than one classification on his behalf, based on his evaluation and criticism regarding to the classifications of the Peripatetic philosophers, and we will try to emphasize the most prominent one. While trying to achieve this aim we will try to show that on which criterias his classification composed of and what is its relationship with his philosophy –especially with his epistemology- and what its differences from the previous classification are.
