Yazınsal Yapıtlarda Melezlik Olgusu ve Bir Eğretileme Olarak Çeviri
2017
Journal:
Turkish Studies
Author:
Abstract:

Translated in text and translated as a translation
2017
Journal:

Abstract:

Today, there are many writers who reflect their identity in their works. These authors are like representatives of our society aiming at a multicultural and multilingual world. However, these writers do not deny their past that created them. The language they use is the tension area of the dual identity, just because the language is the most important part of the identity. This article aims to keep traces in the writing of the multiculturalism and malignity phenomena characterizing the author in the context of the concepts of "identity" and "assistance" in the literary works in the context of ethnometodological methods and from the perspective of translation. In this study, which constitutes the theoretical part of our problem, in particular, in the persons, the entrances between identities, the transformations will be emphasized in the dimension of the relationship between the fields of translation, colonialism-post-speaking and ethnopsychiatry to ensure that translation, conversion and conversion are seen as a conversion experience and addressed in that context. In this study, our goal is to study the general perception and the common consciousness and common mind reflect in our social action (etnometodology), a translation action (translationability), which is a social action. Translation is no longer addressed from a certain point of view of discipline, requires a multidisciplinary approach. We can even say that the translation has now become a central curve, one of the keywords of our time. The translation concept is a complete point of encounter for social sciences in every sense, in other words, it is qualified to cover all the branches of social sciences as an interdisciplinary understanding.

The Notion Of Hybridity In Literature and Translation As Metaphor
2017

Abstract:

Today, there are quite a number of writers, who reflect their hybrid identity upon their works. These writers are in a sense the representatives of our society that aims at achieving a multicultural and multilingual world. However, they do not deny the past that shaped their identity. Since language constitutes its most significant part, their language use is, in a manner, the area of tension between these two identities. This article aims at tracing back the notions of multiculturalism and hybridity in literature, in the scope of “identity” and “belonging” within the framework of ethnomethodology and from the perspective of translation studies. In this study, which constitutes the theoretical part of the main problem of our research, intellectual links between translation studies, postcolonial discourse and ethnopsychiatry will be dwelt upon particularly in the light of the said questions in order to ensure that the tides between and the transformations of the identities of hybrid personalities are addressed and studied as an experience of translation, as a metaphor. In short, our aim in this study is to analyse the reflection of stereotyped, normative perception along with collective consciousness and common sense to our social actions (etnomethodology), and to translation as a social act. Translation as a social act can be described as transforming and evolving the existing to a different form. Translation, now, is required to be studied with a multidisciplinary perspective. It can be argued that translation has become a significant metaphor, a key word. It can also be argued that the concept of translation has become a junction in social sciences, and it encompasses all the fields in social sciences as a transdisciplinary approach.
