Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the anxiety of pre-service teachers’ not to be attained. Additionally in this research tried to investigate whether there are meaningful differences in the anxiety of pre-service teachers’ not to be attained according to their genders, ages and departments. This descriptive model research was conducted with quantitative data. The participants of this research are 468 (369 female and 99 male) pre-service teachers that studying their final year at the various departments at faculty of education, Trakya University in 2014-2015 academic year. This research data were collected by the “The Anxiety of Pre-service Teachers’ Not To Be Attained Scale” that developed under this research. Obtained data were analyzed by SPSS 17. During the analysis of data Arithmetic Mean, Standard Deviation, t-Test, One Sample Kolmogorov Smirnov Test and Kruskal Wallis-H Test were used. The Anxiety of pre-service teachers’ not to be attained has been found high. According to results sub-dimension of “fear not to be attained” has found to be high and sub-dimension of “personal perception” has found to be middle level. Besides in the anxiety of pre-service teachers’ not to be attained while no statistically significant differences have been found in terms of their ages and departments, statistically significant difference has been found in favour of the female pre-service teachers. Qualitative researchs concerned with the anxiety of pre-service teachers’ not to be attained should be conducted. Why female pre-service teachers have more anxiety about not to be attained than male pre-service teachers should be investigated. According to results solutions about the anxiety of pre-service teachers’ not to be attained should be produced.
