Fen ve Teknoloji Dersinde Web Destekli Öğretim Yönteminin 7. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Akademik Başarılarına ve Öğrendikleri Bilgilerin Kalıcılığına Etkisi

Bu çalışmada web destekli öğretim yönteminin ilköğretim 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin başarısına ve öğrendikleri bilgilerin kalıcılığına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Uygulama konusu olarak “Maddenin Yapısı ve Özellikleri” ünitesi seçilmiş ve araştırma ön test-son test kontrol gruplu modele göre düzenlenmiştir. Araştırmada, uygulama okulunun iki şubesinden biri deney ve diğeri kontrol grubu olarak kura yöntemiyle yansız olarak belirlenmiştir. Her iki grupta 28’ er öğrenci olmak üzere toplam 56 öğrenci araştırmaya katılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan web sayfası ve akademik başarı testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın uygulamasına geçilmeden önce, akademik başarı testi deney ve kontrol gruplarına ön test olarak verilmiştir. Gruplar akademik başarı ön test sonuçlarına ve önceki döneme ait fen ve teknoloji dersi karne notlarına göre denk olup, deney grubuna web destekli öğretim uygulanmış, kontrol grubuna ise öğretim programının gerektirdiği uygulamalar devam etmiştir. Uygulama sonrasında akademik başarı testi her iki gruba son test olarak verilmiştir. Kalıcılığı ölçmek için uygulamadan bir ay sonra akademik başarı testi iki gruba da tekrar uygulanmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde SPSS 15.0 programı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları; web destekli öğretim yönteminin uygulandığı deney grubu öğrencilerinin akademik başarılarının ve öğrenilen bilgilerin kalıcılığının, kontrol grubu öğrencilerine göre istatistiksel olarak daha yüksek olduğunu ortaya koymuştur.

This study has studied the impact of the web-backed teaching method on the success of elementary 7th grade students and the durability of the information they learn. The subject of the application was selected by the unit "The structure and characteristics of the material" and the research was arranged according to the model of the pre-test-final test control group. In the study, one of the two branches of the School of Application was determined reflectlessly by the curriculum method as a experimental and the other as a control group. A total of 56 students from both groups participated in the study, including 28 early students. The data collection has been used by the researchers prepared web page and the academic success test. Before the research was passed into practice, the academic success test was given as a pre-test to the experiment and control groups. The academic success of the groups is equal to the pre-test results and the matters of the science and technology course of the previous period, the experimental group applied web-supported teaching, and the control group continued the practices required by the curriculum. After the application, the academic success test was given to both groups as the final test. A month after the application to measure durability, the academic success test was repeatedly applied to two groups. The SPSS 15.0 program is used for the processing of data. The research results showed that the academic achievements of the students in the experimental group where the web-supported teaching method was applied and the durability of the learned information was statistically higher than the students in the control group.

The Effect Of Web Based Teaching Method On 7th Grade Student Achievement and Retention Of Knowledge In A Science and Technology Lesson

In this study, any effect of the web-based teaching of achievement of the 7th grade students in the primary education school on retention of information learnt by them is examined. The unit “Structure and Characteristics of the Matter” subject to the application is selected and the study is arranged according to the pre-test and post-test control group model. In the research, two branches of the application school are determined impartially by casting lots as one is the test group and the other is the control group. Totally 56 students participate in the research as each group consists of 28 students. Website and academic achievement test prepared by the research in collecting data are used. Before the research is started to apply, the academic achievement test is given as a pre-test for the testing and control groups. The groups are equal according to the academic achievement pre-test results the report card points of a science and technology lesson in the previous semester. A web-based teaching is applied to the test group, and any applications required by the training programme are maintained. Upon application the academic achievement test is a post-test for both groups. To measure retention of information, the academic achievement test is applied again both groups one month later than the application. SPSS 15.0 programme is used in resolving data. The research results reveal that academic achievement of the students of the test group, on whom the web-based teaching method is applied, and retention of information learnt by them are higher statistically than the students of the control group.
