Bu araştırmanın birincil amacı, Sezgin Selçuk (2004) tarafından üniversite düzeyine yönelik olarak geliştirilen Fizik Dersine Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği’nin lise düzeyine uyarlamasını yapmaktır. Araştırmanın ikincil amacı, uyarlanan ölçek kullanılarak İzmir (n=178) ve Gaziantep (n=178) illerinde öğrenim gören lise öğrencilerinin fizik dersine yönelik tutumlarını ve bu değişkenin illere göre değişimini incelemektir. Uyarlaması yapılan ölçek, geçerlik-güvenirlik çalışmaları amacıyla 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim yılının başında İzmir ve Gaziantep illerinde öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 356 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada betimsel araştırma modeli kullanılmıştır. Tutum ölçeğinin geçerlilik çalışmaları doğrultusunda, ölçeğin kapsam geçerliği ve yapı geçerliği incelenmiştir. Ölçeğin tümüne ait güvenirlik katsayısı 0.96 olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırmanın ikinci amacı ile ilgli olan verileri frekans, yüzde, ortalama, standart sapma, tek yönlü Varyans Analizi (one-way ANOVA) kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışması sonuçları, yeni ölçeğin lise düzeyine uygun yapıda geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğunu göstermektedir. Elde edilen bulgular doğrultusunda, yerleşim yerine göre (il) ayrım yapılmaksızın öğrencilerin fiziğe yönelik tutumlarının nötr olduğu ve İzmir ilinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin fizik dersine yönelik tutumlarının Gaziantep ilinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin tutumlarına göre daha olumlu olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yapılan araştırmada öğrencilerin öğrenim gördükleri yerleşim yerinin öğrencilerin fizik dersine olan tutumlarını etkilemektedir sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları doğrultusunda, öğrencilerin fizik dersine yönelik tutumlarının öğretim sürecinin başlangıcında belirlenmesi ve buna göre öğrenme-öğretme süreci gözden geçirilmesi önerilebilir.
The primary objective of this research was to adapt the Attitude toward Physics Scale developed for the university level by Sezgin Selçuk (2004) to a high school level physics (Attitude toward Physics Scale), to determine high school students' preferred attitudes to learning physics. The secondary objective was to use the adapted scale to find out whether students' attitudes to learning display any significant difference according to the variables of location (city). This study is a descriptive research that used the survey model. The adapted scale was applied to a total of 356 high school students in the province of İzmir (n=178) and Gaziantep (n=178), Turkey for the purpose of testing the scale's validity and reliability. The results show that the Attitude toward Physics Scale is a valid and reliable instrument. The reliability coefficient for the whole of the scale was found to be 0.96. The data related to the secondary objective of the research were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviation, analysis of varians (one-way ANOVA). It was determined from the results of the analysis that without regional differences students had neutral attitude toward physics and in the region of Izmir attitudes was determined to be more positive than in the region of Gaziantep. In the light of this study, it can be suggested that students’ attitudes to physics should be determined and teaching process should be revised accordingly.
