Abstract:

In this research, it was aimed to develop a measurement tool having the reliability of measurements to determine the attitudes of teacher candidates on value education. Primarily, the relevant literature was scanned in order to form the scale on the subject matter in the research, the expert opinion was asked in order to determine the scope and the appearance validity of scale. In line with opinions, the test form consisting of 25 items was applied to 278 students at last class composed of 100 female and 178 male students studying during the fall semester 2012-2013 in Faculty of Industrial Arts Education in Gazi University. The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was used for the structure validity of data obtained from the pilot application results. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, it was observed that the scale has a structure with two factors. I was decided that these two structures consisting of 16 items, 9 positive and 7 negative, reflect the sizes of "care about the value of education" and "finding valuable the value education". The structure with two factors explains the 555.74 of total variance of scale. As a result of first degree confirmatory factor analysis with data set, the structure with two factors was confirmed, it was observed that the conformity index has good and acceptable conformity values (X2/sd: 2.05; RMSEA: .06; NFI: .91; CFI: .95; GFI:.91; RFI: .90; AGFI: .89; SRMR: .04). Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficient related to the whole of scale completing reliability studies was defined as α = 0.93. as a consequence, it was decided that the Scale For Attitudes On Teaching National Values has psychometric properties required for an instrument with measurement reliability.
