Dinleme, ilk kullanılan ve günlük hayatta en çok yararlanılan dil becerisidir. Dinleme, öğrenmenin en önemli ve en çok kullanılan aracı olduğundan etkili ve verimli dinlemenin alışkanlık haline getirilmesi önemlidir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin ders içi dinleme sorunlarının belirlenmesidir. Tarama modeline göre desenlenmiş betimsel bir çalışma olan bu araştırma, 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılında Malatya ilinde random yöntemiyle seçilen bir ortaöğretim kurumundaki 343 öğrenci üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma verileri, ‘’Kişisel Bilgi Formu’’ ve araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen ‘’Ders İçi Dinleme Sorunları Anketi’’ ile toplanmıştır. Toplanan veriler SPSS 17.0 veri analiz programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Verilerin frekans analizleri öğrenci, öğretmen ve çevre kaynaklı unsurlara göre değerlendirilerek tespit edilmiş, bulgular tablo halinde gösterilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin ders içi dinleme sorunlarının öğrenci, öğretmen ve çevre kaynaklı birçok unsurdan etkilendiği tespit edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin genel olarak kolay buldukları ve rahat geçeceklerini düşündükleri dersleri dinleme ihtiyacı hissetmedikleri, ilgi duymadıkları dersleri dinlemede sorun yaşadıkları, kendileri için faydalı olup sevmedikleri dersleri ise dinlemede sorun yaşamadıkları tespit edilmiştir. Anlatılan konunun öğrencilerin ilgi alanına girmesinin ve öğretmenin öğrenci tarafından sevilmesinin kız öğrencilerin dinleme tutumları üzerinde daha etkili olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bunun yanında, erkek öğrencilerin ise öğretmenlerinin akıcı ve ilgi çekici bir anlatıma sahip olmalarını, kullandıkları anlatım yöntemlerinin değişip değişmediğini ve öğretmenlerin derse hâkim olmalarını kız öğrencilerden daha fazla önemsedikleri tespit edilmiştir.
Listening is the first used and the most benefited language skill in daily life. Because of the fact that listening is the most important and most widely used learning tool, it is important to get into the habit of efficent and effective listening habits. The purpose of this research is to determine listening problems of secondary school students in the class. This research was modeled according to descriptive survey model. This study was carried out with 343 randomly selected students in a secondary school in the 2014-2015 academic year in Malatya province. Datas of the research were collected by using ‘’Personel Information Form’’ and ‘’In-class Listening Problems Questionnarie’’ which was developed by the researchers. Collected datas were analyzed by using SPSS 17.0 Data Analysis Program. Frequency analysis of the datas were determined by evaluating according to student, teacher and environmental factors and shown in tables. As a result of the research, it was determined that in-class listening problems of secondary school students were influenced by many problems related to student, teacher and environment. It was found that students don’t need to listen when they find a course easy and when they think they can pass it smoothly. On the other hand, it was found that students listen useful and important lessons even if they don’t enjoy them. Besides, it was found that girl students’ in-class listening behaviours are more related to whether their teachers love them and the course are of interest to them. Furthermore, it was found that male students care more whether their teachers have a fluent expression, different expression methods and content knowladge.
