Abstract:

Our traditional clothings which have a rich variety are the most procious documents of our culture. Understanding of people's clothing is dependent on the knowledge of the clothing selection and each region's clothes have variety form according to that region's cultural, economic and social situation. In course of time, people revealed their own clothes according to the life style, customs and traditions.By storing protect our local clothes which are carrying on of the history of accumulation is not sufficient. These clothes should be examined from every angle. In Turkish society bride's attire worn during wedding ceremonies as in the past continues to be worn today. Bridal dress pattern which worn before the traditional white wedding dress, cut, fabric, stitching, lining and decorative features descibed by documenting the happiest day of their clothes must be to perpetuate. With the innovations of technology and doomed to being thrown into the background of our cultural heritage which is the product of these garments reflect the region in terms of features it is important to review and transmission to future generations. In this study, observation and interview methods are used In the examination of local bridal dresses and descriptive methods are used interpretation and analysis of data. Field research was conducted by going to Sogut Village of Çardak Town of Denizli Province. In the village people were interviewed who uses clothes or have in the hands. Bridal outfits “don” samples were investigated. Clothes were examined in terms of materials, color, pattern, cutting, sewing, lining, adornment and size characteristics. At the end of the study, it seen that the most preferred cloth is karagöz and rectangular cutting. Front, back and crotch are generally sewed. Also there is a cloth is added to crotch and it is preferred to study with different parts at waistband and lowest part of the trouser leg(trotter).
