Dil bilinci; dilin bir millet için önemini kavrayıp dili bu önem doğrultusunda, kurallarına uygun kullanmak; milletin kimliğine, varlığına zarar verecek kullanımlardan uzak durmak ve bu tür kullanımlara karşı duyarlı olmaktır. Günümüzde iş yerlerine özellikle yabancı kelimelerden isim seçilmesi, kitle iletişim araçlarında dilin yanlış kullanımı, çeşitli kültürlerle etkileşim sonucu dilimize giren yabancı kelimeler girmesi ve Türkçe karşılığı bulunmasına rağmen yabancı kelimelerin kullanımının daha fazla tercih edilmesi, internetin kullanımının artması ile gençlerin dilimizde olmayan birtakım sözcükler uydurmaları; dilin doğru kullanımına karşı çok fazla duyarlılık geliştirilmediğinin ve dil bilincinin gelişmediğinin göstergesidir. Bu tür kullanımlar, dilimizde kirliliğe sebep olmakta; dilimize yeterince önem verilmemesi, bu hususta etkili olacak önlemler alınmaması da bu kirliliği gün geçtikçe artırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada üniversite öğrencilerinin dil bilincine ve dil kirliliği ile ilgili duyarlılığa ne kadar sahip olduğunu tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Dil kirliliği üzerinde etkili faktörleri tespit etmek amacıyla bir anket geliştirilmiştir. Ankette yer alan likert ölçeği ile öğrencilere ait dil kirliliği puanları elde edilmiştir. Dil kirliliği puanları ile puanlar üzerinde etkili olduğu düşünülen demografik özellikler arasındaki ilişki, karar ağaçları yöntemlerinden biri olarak bilinen CHAID (Otomatik Ki-kare etkileşim belirleme/Chi-squared Automatic Interaction Detection) analizi ile incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre öğrencilerin dil kirliliği puanları ile bölüm, cinsiyet ve para harcama alışkanlıkları bilgileri ilişkilidir.
language consciousness is to understand the importance of language for a nation and use the language in accordance with the rules of this importance to the presence of the nation’s identity to stand away from the use and to be susceptible to such uses today to the workplaces, especially from foreign words, the wrong use of the language in mass communication vehicles, the foreign words that interact with various cultures, and the use of foreign words, although the use of the internet is more preferred, and a number of words that are not aware of our language are not developed much sensitivity to the correct use of the language, and the language has been deemed to be considered to be effective in this language
Language awareness is to conceive the importance of language for nation and use it in accordance with the rules, to avoid from the usages which can be harmful to the identity and the existence of the nation, and be sensitive to these wrong usages. Currently, choosing foreign words for the names of shops, misusing the language in mass media, deriving new words that do not exist in the native language via increased usage of internet by young people are all the indicators of non improvement in the sensitiveness related to usage of language properly and language awareness. These types of usages account for language degeneration, and not considering the language as an important issue, also not putting restrictions which can be effective in this manner increase this degeneration day by day. In this study, it is tried to determinate the language awareness and sensitivity of language degeneration of university students. A survey is developed in order to find out effective factors on language degeneration. Language degeneration scores of university students are obtained by likert scale in the survey. The relationship between language degeneration scores and demographic qualities considered that effective on language degeneration is examined by using CHAID (Chi-squared Automatic Interaction Detection) analysis which is known as one of the decision tree techniques. Language degeneration scores of university students are related to their department, gender and behavior of spending money with regard to the obtained results.
