Abstract:

Mesela Nâmık Kemal’in, Ziya Paşa’nın Harâbât adlı antolojisi için yazdığı Tahrib-i Harâbât ve Takib adlı tenkid eserleri mektup şeklindedir.

Abstract:

the evaluation of edebî products and witnesses in literature has been seen as a tenkid amelioration of positive or negative aspects, which is very common in modern times, but also in classical ottoman literature, it has been necessary to share thesis in the most apparent way, to see the fact that the verses were made in the first time, in order to see the tribution of the verses, and to see the first words of the verses, which are made by the tribute to the verses of the verses

Abstract:

In literature, reviewing literary works and its characters, presenting positive and negative aspects of them have seen as an act of criticism. Even though this act has spread and become popular in modern times, there was a remarkable amount of criticism in Ottoman literature either. ‘Şuarâ tezkirleri’ which are collection of biographies of poets, are the works in which criticism revealed the most. Tezkire writer exposes original criticism about the works of the person whom he is writing down biography about, and the art-literature perceptions of that time. Beyond the ‘tezkires’ it can be said that there were some forms of literary criticism either. It is a well known fact that from Tanzimat Reform Era on, personal criticisms are made with the help of first person literature tool, namely letters. For instance, Nâmık Kemal’s Tahrib-i Harâbât and Takib criticisms on Ziya Paşa’s anthology Harâbât are written in letter type. Similar situation can be seen in Classical Ottoman Literature as well. In this writing two letters are analyzed, one of which is an answer to a governor who insults poets, and the other is a poet’s complain to one of his friends about false critiques on art. Written by different authors, these letters are merely a self defense. Both religious and customary poem perceptions of that era can be seen in these letters. While answering an invective against poets, the author describes the place of poems in religion with religious arguments in the first letter. In the second letter, some skullduggeries of poets to intimidate their rivals in the literary market are present.
