Suzan Sözen, 1960’lı yılların tanınmış bir popüler roman yazarıdır. Ümitsiz aşkları anlattığı romanlarının satır aralarında pek çok da sosyal konuyu gündeme getirir. Sanatçının yazdığı 11 romanda seçilen konu, çevre ve zaman dikkate alındığında bu eserleri iki grupta tasnif etmek mümkündür. Bunlar yazarın günlük hayatın içinden seçtiği kahramanların maceralarını anlatan popüler aşk romanları [Rahika (1949), Kiralık Ruh (1952), Sana Döneceğim (1954), Beni Unut (1958), Sahibini Arayan Kadın (1959), Aşk Mektupları (1959), Sanera (1959), İlahlar Affetmez] ve tarihî kişiler ve olaylara dayalı popüler tarihî romanlardır. [Siyah Zambak (1962), Batmayan Güneş (1963), Unutulan Yemin, (1967)] Her iki gruptaki romanlarında da bireysel ve toplumsal, hatta evrensel konuları dile getiren yazar, şahsî fikirlerini de açık yüreklilikle ortaya koymaktan çekinmez. Biz de bu çalışmamızda, Suzan Sözen’in romanlarında değindiği konular ile bu konuları ele alış biçimini tespit etmeğe çalıştık.
Suzan Sözen is a famous novel writer of the 1960s. Their romances about unfortunate love bring many of them to the agenda of social issues. In the 11 novel by the artist, the subject selected, the environment and the time are considered, it is possible to divide these works into two groups. These are popular love novels that tell the adventures of the heroes chosen by the writer from the daily life [Rahika (1949), Rental Spirit (1952), I'll Return to You (1954), Forget Me (1958), Woman Looking for Her Owner (1959), Love Letters (1959), Sanera (1959), Gods Don't Forget] and popular historical novels based on historical personalities and events. [Black Zambak (1962), Untouching Sun (1963), Forgotten Sump, (1967)] The writer who speaks individual and social, and even universal issues in his novel in both groups, does not hesitate to express his personal ideas with open courage. We also tried to identify the way we addressed these topics with the subjects mentioned in Suzan Sözen’s novels.
