Eski Türkçeden beri hemen bütün Türk dil ve lehçelerinde emir ekleri yapı itibariyle diğer bütün fiil çekim eklerinden, her şahıs için müstakil bir ekin kullanılması cihetinden, farklılık göstermektedir. Yine emir kipinde, ikinci çokluk şahıs için diğerlerinden farklı olarak tek şekillilik söz konusu değildir. Eski Türkçeden beri bu amaçla -? eki yanında bu ekin +lAr veya +z çokluk ekiyle genişlemiş şekli kullanılagelmiştir: -?Iz ve -?lAr. Kırgızcada ise bunların dışında bir de -GXlA şekli vardır. Bu yapı, değişik kaynaklarda farklı şekilde açıklanmıştır. Bunlar esas itibariyle -GIl emir pekiştirme ekine dayandırılmıştır. Bizce, bu ek, Eski Uygur Türkçesinden beri kullanılagelen -?lAr ekine dayanmaktadır.
